I was just looking at GPR's "post". Sure seems like it could modified to be more like a Scott's post. Cut down the vertical portion of and graft on a Scott's type post.

And then figuring out the main unit mount.......

Welding around the filler should not be an issue. That round tapped hole lug should survive it just fine.

20% off a stabilizer sure makes me want to buy one. Welding on the bike makes me not want to buy one. I wish I could get my hands on one for a mock-up before I committed the big bucks.

So is there any advantage in functionality of the Scott's versus the GPR?

(I'm stabilizer stupid. I've run dampers on hacks before, but never anything on a two-wheeler.)

You could go with one of these if you dont like the welding option. I put one in mine. image.jpg image.jpg
This one is a bit cusomized.

The one in the pic above is from my honda mx bike. Ive got the newer ohlins one on my terra, its the same bearing, just had to machine it down about 0.10mm since it was to large on the diameter. image.jpg
The newer one doesent need the long "pin" its probably just about 10mm tall.

Yes, the Scotts is WAY better IMHO. GPR has way to much low speed damping for me. Also had some leakage issues.
