They used the 07' seat pan on my 08' and it fit.

I heard there was another one just like it out there but I didn't believe it. :D

I checked his website and saw the picture. I'm wondering if the way the seat sticks out if it will interfere with standing on the pegs while you are moving around? On most touring bikes this wouldn't be a problem, but on a dirt bike or even a Supermoto bike this may be a problem. Below are how the Rick Meyer's seat and the Corbin's seat look from the top. Which one looks like it would be easier to move front to back on. I'd be worried that the Rick Meyer seat would only be for sitting down.

Rick Meyer's looks like it giving the finger. I love my Renazco's on both my bikes.

I've been thinking about getting a Rick Meyers saddle for my BMW R1150RT for a long time. They are nice seats but they look like they would make your dirt bike into a touring bike by locking you into the forward position of the seat. But I bet they are super comfy.

I really don't know if the concerns about mobility while standing on pegs or being locking into the forward position with the Rick Mayer seat are valid, but I'll soon find out and let you know.

I don't think it will be an issue, really. When I stand up, I'm usually over the narrow, front portion of the seat anyway.

I have a Rick Mayer seat on my V-Strom and I really don't notice it while standing.

It is nice for the long days though.:thumbsup:

You are probably right, but I'm thinking about super steep downhill trails where I'm hanging my ass over the rear fender. Someday I will got one for my RT.

I recently purchased a seat from Corbin for my 2006 SM610. It is exactly the same height as the stock seat. It is considerably wider and more comfortable. Also it is a quality item. There are a number of minor issues. First thing I felt a little stiffed, they did not include a fastener, for close to $400, jeeze. Second the plate near the front that should catch the fitting on the tank is about an inch short, made my own. I will be sending them a photo of my version. I am hoping the leather gets less slick, feels like Teflon, sliding all over the place. I think I will be re-working the stock seat in the future, not sure it was worth the money.

I've been meaning to post pics of my new Renazco seat. Highly recommended and worth the wait!

I rode on a DR650 with a Rick Meyer seat. Comfortable sitting down. Absolutely sucked for offroad riding or stop and go traffic. It locks you in one position and you can't move around. When you go to put your feet down at a stop, you have to push yourself forward to get off the seat. Very awkward feeling.

Highside, how do you like the seat cover material ? Do you slide much on the seat? The only thing I did not like about the Corbin on my DR was the slick vinyl cover. Had me sliding all over. I prefer a "gripper" material.

How much does the Renazco cost and how long does it take?

I contacted them in August and got a December appointment. You just send the seat in about a week ahead of time, and the turnaround is pretty quick. The cost depends on the options you choose. I think mine was $350 or $375, including the return shipping. It is a while to wait for an appoinment, but the quality is top notch. I was considering Corbin and Renazco, but after reading many reviews, I never found a single negative review of Renazco. In comparison, people seemed to either love or hate the Corbin.

I like it! They put some shiny conditioner stuff on it when they were done, but that was worn off and the basket-weave material grips pretty well. Because I went there with my bike, I picked out exactly what I wanted from their different materials. Since I put the seat on my bike, I have not thought about my ass on any ride since, and that's worth a lot more than what I paid for my seat.

Just got off the phone with Corbin and Motostrano. They both told me that the '07 Corbin seat pan will not work on the '08 and '09 models. The front mounting positions are different :censored: High-side, did you have to work on the front mounting tab? How did you make it work??

I really like the looks of the Corbin over the Renazco. The Corbin is low profile and has a nice bowl-shaped contour. The Renazco's I've seen are flat on top and thick in the middle. Not good for a short guy.

They made it work. I brought my bike down to them and they made my seat while I ate a hamburger in their cafe and watched through the window by my table. I don't know what modifications they did, but my seat fits like a glove and I have not had any problems with it.

Can you take a look at the underside of your seat (or share a picture) so I can try to determine how it was modified?

    +3 for Renazco Racing Seats

I've had 2 Renazco's(DRZ 400sm and KTM950SM) and will be getting one for my TE610. They are awesome and worth every penny.

Jonah Street of Team Rally Pan Am runs a Renazco in the Paris-Dakar, so I'd say they are off-road worthy!

Well, I would prefer one in the next two weeks but there's a waiting list.
