Sounds like if it gets your approval it would get mine as well. I'll get it at some point. Thanks for sharing!

I have seen 2hp increases from the q-insert and it does help with flame outs if you don't have a pcv.

has anyone in Europe played with the akro can that comes with the bike? like pulling the spark arrester screen out etc. the can I mean is the so called race can that comes with the bike. I'm realy after more snap out of the bike as it seems slow reving/slow to pick up the revs. I'm a little worried about messing with the can though as I have never once experienced the flame out problem,my bike is a 2011 model te 449. bog standard except the jumper plug fitted. hooks up great and generally has enough power, but if you are coming off a series of step off's it's not snappy enough to launch off each one, seems to be a delay in throttle to forward motion. my last bike was a heavily modified yz250f which I fitted with a wide ratio box and mega bomb header etc. just would like more snap. any suggestions mega/power bomb header? best tail can?

Have a look through these threads & see if it relates to your problem, I think it might.
The second butterfly is programmed to do just what you are describing, bring power on slowly. Way too slowly for a 450cc bike.
My own bike is great now from closed throttle it just snaps to attention as soon the throttle is cracked. It is running just the supplied Akra slip-on & no other exhaust mods.
You will likely have to make fuelling changes, either by TPS, or by a piggy-back tuner like a PCV, JD etc.

The akro pipe that came with your bike is the TXC/TE Akropovic slip on. They are very heavy and restricted. Besides being heavy, the plus side is that they are really restrictive and help with less flame outs. I don't believe it is worth modifying that silencer to a larger core due to the weight.

Flame outs are due to a lean condition. Increasing that condition will increase the chance for flame outs. Toss a Powercore 4 on without an insert or fuel tuner, we'll see if you are still laughing.

if you want to spend money , just throw a Power commander in it.. Hell Yeah...

But you could do it the way most of us did it here. Just Remove the Top Butterfly in your Throttle body !!! You are going to love it.

I was in this forum 10 months ago.
Had the same issues with the Bike and received many suggestions from CH Members.

I will list them for You
    - run the bike in properly .... WTF ?! 1000 miles ?? honestly
-install wires here and there ... ground is not good enough... men the things people told me to do was huge...
-install a bigger muffler... FMF 4. Helped nothing at all. Still flameouts.
-Updated Software ... even it was done ... no help at all.
    - then they came up with the Power commander and JD tuner...

    You know what !!!

Just Remove that Secondary Butterfly from the Keihein D46 Throttle Body. The Husqvarna Dealers in Australia even started doing this now.
My self i have removed it on 2 more bikes for Friends. They are happier then ever.

Dangermouse is the person in all honesty to talk too....

We are happy with the mod. My bike hammers and so does all of them who did the mod.
It is an absolute easy fix and everyone can do it.

The butterfly mod has nothing to do with flame outs nor slip on mufflers which is the subject of this thread. You continue to attack me over and over, even when previously warned. You have taken what was once a great thread and turned it into a TT flame war. Seriously, you're an idiot.

tinken is correct bud, with the fmf pipe and smallest insert and racemap ii my bike was perfectlt fine with no flameouts.

i lost my exhaust insert and it stalled all the time, so i vented my airbox and inatalled a pcv with auto tuner and the power difference is staggering. bike hits the revlimiter with ease.

it is worth every penny. With the pipe and airbox mods. It takes the bike from a 35hp turd to a screaming banshee.

removing the butterfly just made it much much snappier.

    A bit back on topic...

OP - I went the route of modifying the stock can (albeit the other stock can). It DID make a difference...but was not what I was looking for.

I wound up with the FMF with the quiet core insert and could not be more pleased. In additon to, and maybe more importantly, I also shed right at 5 pounds. That missing 5 pounds up so high makes the bike immensly more maneuverable.

I am a huge advocate of dropping easy weight off the bike. With a lithium battery and an FMF you drop a full 10 pounds off the bike...you are flirting around with 250 4S weights now...MUCH more usable in the woods.

US bikes, TE models are different. This negative crap is getting old....
Tinken knows his stuff, they pay him because he does.
removing the butterfly on this type system is not new....what else you
    got???
