    TE to SM

Looks good I did the same thing with mine.I ended up putting the 320mm brake on and what a difference,I don't think it will ever go back to TE mode. You can also pick up a stock front fender from a SM 450/510,they run the same head light as the TE's and are a better match.

+1 on the big brakes. I've got an SM610 and the brakes are splendiferous! The 610 wouldn't be half the fun without the monster brakes. It's like having a hidden ace up your sleeve

Did you drill the carrier mount holes?

    what driving lights are those?

    Great looking bike.
I noticed the little driving lights.
Which ones are those? I would like to do the same thing on my 2007.
I picked up a cheap pair from Wally recently, but they are probably not worth mounting.
    Thanks

If you are you refering to the holes in the fork leg,No. I did drill an tap larger holes in the hub for the big rotor though,if I would have known how much better the braking would be I would have ordered the SM hub to begin with.

All the lights are stock in the picture but I am installing an LED tail light today.I'm finally tired of looking at that oversized tail section. So far it looks awesome, just have to wire it up.

Damn, in my case I'll have to drill out the smaller rotor from 6mm to 8mm when I get it. Then I'll check for offset and see if I need to make adjustments......... I guess I'll hold on to the SM brake setup for now, just in case....

Drilling the TE rotor is no big deal,it's soft.I would be helpful to use a drill press or a mill.Be sure that the rotor is dead center in the caliper,a good way to do it is put the wheel on (axle not tight) and sqeeze the brake lever and put a strap around it while you measure the spacer clearance between the fork leg and spacer.

The driving lights are Hella. They were originally 55w halogens that I converted to 35w HIDs. The beam is not tightly focused but they illuminate everything in front of you for about 75' really well.

What is the pouch on the headlight cover used for please-looks interesting?
Are you going to put a small screen on for road riding?

The pouch on the headlight cover is just holding a few small items like the registration, sunglasses, spare gloves and such. It is held on with 4 gripper snaps. So far as adding a shield for road riding yes it has that option, the shield has double sided gripper snaps and attaches to the headlight cover by removing the pouch, the pouch can then be attached to the shield.
I have the bike set up for lots of different quick change operations and can go from dirt, to SM, to hwy cruiser with just a few minutes of reconfigureing.
Here it is in full highway trim.

How much of a difference dose the faring gives you ?
I swear, sometimes it gets so windy over here it feels like am about to be blown off the bike…

Maybe I just need to eat some more ?

It seems subtle at first but after about 1/2 hr. you notice that you're not feeling beat up by the wind buffeting. In short, it works great.

    1. was this spacer a husky item? I have a full set from an 07 SM510 and the front wheel is not centered and the axles/spacers that came with them are the same as my 610's from all measurements I took. I may just need a 1/8" wider spacer made/bought.

    2. I am using a 320mm rotor and getting the caliper bracket from Husky, so not too worried there.

    Nice ride!
