I gotta do some more research. I think I read once we can't use screws/spikes in tires out here on forest trails. Gonna need 'em this weekend...it's all getting blasted right now w/ a ton more snow and ice.
Currently +12 F outside, only couple inches snow in town, but another storm coming. Came late this season, but our mtns got anywhere from 6" to over 20" in the last storm, and I'm sure a lot more very soon. The desert area might have some cold off/on riding, but my riding is most likely done until next March, and early summer up high. Did get the Husky out last year in the snow.....it was a very short ride, my TE510 is not a snowmobile.
It was snowing in Malibu yesterday....that's right, MALIBU! And hard, too. Yeh, uh-huh, Global Warming my a**.
The weekend after a traveled through the Australian Alps on my road bike a 1975 Laverda, there was an unseasonal dump, about 2ft of snow and bigger than the biggest dump in the winter ski season, that was mid November and close to the start of our summer, its now 28C in Sydney and beach weather on Christmas day and getting close to too HOT to dirt ride.
Even though it's been 10 years since we've had a white Xmas I'd take some of that. Been snowing and cold here since Dec. 17 and I've had enough, I'm not shoveling the driveway anymore, my kid is dying to ride his bicycle and the dogs are driving us crazy because we can't seem to get enough exercise in them. Thought I'd never say it but..... Come on rain.
I would rather have snow than rain, except I'm use to having snow on the ground 5 months out of the year.
Quit yer whining. This is what I have been dealing with since the start of November. It rained a bunch the last few days and we have lost at least a foot of snow. These pics were from Wed. [/IMG] [/IMG]
Yeah I'm whining. I lived in Calgary and Winnipeg for too many years to not know what winter is. Having a snowmobile was key to survival but I moved to the west coast to get away from it. It sucks and yes, I'm a whiner, so be it. I just get zero pleasure from it.
Personally I dont mind the shoveling part...its kind of a ritual...excersize if you will(I have 80 ft driveway)...but when it keeps on snowing and your shoveling twice a day....I get fed up....I'm with ya bro.......
