Same deal. Magneto discontinued, and coil just on BO. Cancelled. Now going through Halls on the (2) items, but going to keep trying to source a magneto elsewhere.

there are very likely some places that will rewind the stator. i believe electrex (hpi) makes a replacement system as well.

Cool, good have some backup options. I know years ago, GP Motorcycles here in San Diego sent mine out to George (we all know George! :) ) to have him fix up my TE400's magneto. He likely can still do this, just in case all the regular avenues fail me in buying fresh oem.

FYI Guys, this is what Halls Cycles mentioned when I asked about getting a Magneto from them even though their site currently doesn't list it, obviously since it's discontinued. They said they can order a full PVL aftermarket system that has the CDI, coil and magneto for $500. Only downside, it won't run lights. Just wanted you guys to know, just in case some are still interested in having options.

when i opened mine, i thought the intake airbell was pretty sweet. there will be some tuning...but for me thats the fun and part of the lectron advantage is its precision...might be pretty close tho

should be real close but the 360's are a little picky so might need some slight tuning. Once understood they are easy to tune. Look forward to your report and thanks a lot.

Sounds good all! Appreciate the tuning info. Looking forward to seeing it all come together.

Will def provide feedback. Just not sure how much I can report back on it until I actually get it out in the open...which may be a bit, but I know we can always use some initial impressions and hot start testing, hehe.

Of cos! :) Just got the rest of the ignition parts from Halls, so will be refreshing the entire ignition system along with putting the carb on and going through a number of other things.... yay~!

hmm, dont want to be pessimistic but if you do both and run into an issue it could complicate things. i would maybe throw the ignition on, verify the same (or hopefully better starting/running), then proceed with carb?

Yes, you're quite right. I'll throw all the maint and ignition stuff on, start it, make sure all is good, then switch carbs.

Good call. Too many things changing is always a challenge when something goes wrong. I know, the other month when I upgraded my Saab 9-5 from stage zero to stage 5 in one go while at the same time replacing damn near everything I could to refresh entire car, I was a bit nervous about something being off and not even knowing where it was. Thank goodness, no issues other than forgetting to disconnect battery after applying the new tune to the ECU. Shocked it went easy, haha.

    Getting closer.... [IMG]

Did have issue with the supplied cable last night though, so couldn't use it sadly. Here's what my mechanic said who works on my crap when I don't have time:

"The throttle cable supplied with the Lectron was wrong, way too long as well as had the wrong fitting on the throttle housing end of the cable. I was able to make an adapter to fit the original to the Lectron and have it adjusted perfectly using the original cable! "

Gotta love a mechanic that can just make things work! :D

Anyhow, both him and I are keenly interested in seeing how good the bike runs and starts.

Likely this week will be doing some testing, but not off-road, just around the house. Desert Season is over here, so not sure I'll have a proper report on this carb until Oct'ish.

you are not the first person to question that cable
i had to use my original also, not that there was a problem with it before
odd that they would provide a part at my cost that did not work, it was not like they asked if i wanted it

Yeah, I'll ask for a refund on that, since the part is of no value and isn't applicable.
