I just talked to Adam @ Staintune. He can't give me a delivery schedule until tomorrow, but the plan was to have 8 ready to ship by June 1st. That's slipped, but this product is a priority for them as it is a certain income. I sense it is getting real close. rrp is AUD 850. No idea what the USD rrp is likely to be. I'll talk to Adam again tomorrow and report back.
The current exchange rate is 1 USD = 1.082 AUD. So $850 AUD = $785.58 The difference might just take care of the shipping.
Hopefully some of the taxes that those in OZ signed up for won't pass on to us. Taxes there and customs here could be a killer! We will have to wait and see.
For the start, the A$850 include a 10% Oz sales tax which does NOT apply when the article is sold out-of-the-country. It easily could become yet another article that's significantly cheaper overseas and worth for the Aussies to buy back from you guys, postage costs not withstanding.
Adam just said that the factory is working on the TR exhausts right now and will they be available early next week. You guys OS will be able to buy direct from http://staintune.com.au which is preferred. The system is not on the site as yet. Adam will add it when he gets to the factory in Mittagong on Monday or Tuesday. (His office is in Bellingen, 600 km north of the factory.) So. It's about to happen.
They have the price posted and it is 850.00. You can not order from the page it is listed on so I compared shipping for a single can F650 and it was 80.00 to California, 930.00 is pretty steep. Even with the exchange rate it is 860.00. I might have to go with the other system for a lot less. The difference will pay for the pannier bags.
Can you point me to that? I can't find it. With respect, I think you are jumping the gun mate. 930 is pure conjecture at this stage. Adam told me yesterday that he'll be adding the details to the website early next week. He also mentioned that the website isn't subtracting local GST for overseas orders automatically at present, so any prices you see from OS is 11% high. That's also on his ToDo list. Everyone should wait until the product is available for sale on their website. Not long now. I think it will be worth it, for the increase in torque the new exhaust will give us.
It's on the website under Price List. I have know doubt it is an exceptional exhaust system. I will be riding the Utah BDR ride in September with four friends. I am retired and have limited funds. I wish I could afford the top shelf but I have to be realistic. But the price difference will pay for gear I don't have and need for the ride.
Page http://staintune.com.au/pages/price-and-model-listing-2014 Last entry before the Honda-listings, about 2/5 down the page. (I guess the reversed alphabetical order for the TR goes along well with the rest of the bike
Here's me expecting that 'o' would come before 'u'. I never even looked above Honda in the list. That price definitely includes gst for Aussie residents. It would be $77 cheaper for the rest of the world, which should cover shipping. We'll see next week ......
Haven't looked at the web site but have to assume that the mid-pipe is included. I expected a big number but if they have the correct mounts for rough roads and the weight is substantially down I'll go for it.
HUSQVARNA Husqvarna TR650 HU MS TR 65 All Husqvarna TR650 Sports Mufller and coneccting tube with pre muffler Set $850.00
Adam just fixed the website price list. Husqvarna is now after Honda, where it should have been. Man, he responded to that pretty quick! The Staintune exhaust includes muffler and pre-muffler. All you need to do is remove the existing mufflers and splitter pipe and the Staintune parts bolt straight up. (afaik it's the pre-muffler that boosts the low range torque) The current mufflers are 3.15 kg each. I have a Staintune muffler that fits a GSX1400 which has a 300 mm link pipe attached - about the length of the OEM rhs link pipe. It's 3.25 kg. So the weight will drop by at least 3.25 kg. That price includes local gst
Engenia, Thanks for keeping us up to date. Nothing like having someone who's able to talk directly to Staintune!
Hmmm, that is just over 7 pounds, plus save about 7 with a lithium battery, for 14 pounds. I saved 20 when going from stock to the FMF on my TE630 so I was hoping for a bit more, but I will take it. All that weight is up top.
Staintune proudly make the dirt bike pipes with (from memory) 1.2mm thick sheet. Some of their pipes on roadies are .9mm. I got told early on that if you want less weight then you will have to find another brand. Sounds like Adam just might be ready to start banging some heads together when he visits the factory. I've made a good few hurry the hell up calls to Adam. Cheers, Q
