I remember when I worked a HD dealer it was the same. Always heated them red before trying to remove them. And still got a bugger now and then. Good luck with it.

Holy Shit Batman!! You're really struggling there. Right.. if the drill bits are new/sharp they should cut throught the screws easily as they are SO soft, hence half the problem. I used my cordless and just went straight through. I know you're prob pissed off with it by now but did you get a hole through the screws? I used a new 4mm and it cut clean through with a vertical true and steady pressure. Once done, I heated one hub flange, flipped her over and got the cold chisel and heavy hammer to work. Once I saw the slightest movement (mark the screw head/disc with a marker pen in a single line) apply release oil and strike again. Honestly, you won't get the same kinetic energy on the bolt with an impact driver as you will with a lump hammer and a cold chisel.

On the good side of things, my rotor is actually becoming more true believe it or not. Don't know if it is extra heat getting to it or what but it is. - That's just the Vodka and the screws fucking with your mind [IMG]

Hey John, did you get any joy with the stuck bolts?? I'm just interested because I know how bad mine were to get out [IMG]

Bought a couple new drill bits this morning. Haven't drilled out yet. The head on the one bolt I have been working on is almost non-existent at this point. Probably Friday before I get a chance to try again. I'm hesitant to say the least to drill through as if I can't get it out, I am kind of stuck with it that way. Right now it will still function. i'd like to put on the new rotor but at least it still works at the moment. If I totally screw it up by drilling it out and then can't get the bolt out, i guess I'm still in the same spot though, albeit with a slightly lighter bike.

Hey. Yeh! Know what you mean, some things you wish you never started. Thing is, you would have had to take the disc off at some point anyway and it's better you know you can do it if you need to, rather than riding around knowing there's a problem niggling in your mind. Perhaps it's me but I like to know everything is a-ok as far as poss [IMG] I really don't think you'll mess anything up and once you've got those suckers out you can celebrate [IMG]
