Yeah I forgot about that haha! Hereby the side by side of the SM's. Made the pic when I was at our importer. Sadly the SM came straight out of the box and was not assembled yet. The SWM has slightly longer front suspension and a different front brake rotor.
Tell me the SWM will actually come with those Pilot Powers instead of the horrible Diablos that came on the 630's Let us know when you can get a good apples-to-apples comparison.
The radiators are different. And the horn is located in front of the right hand side radiator. Anyway I would be interested in the engine mapping... and maybe the clutch? RDTCU: "Tell me the SWM will actually come with those Pilot Powers instead of the horrible Diablos that came on the 630's" Oh so I'm not the only one who hates them.
Well the first tests are already done and I have sold a couple already. The SWM RS 650R (TE630) has been tested against the Yamaha XT 660R. Very good test! The SWM SM 650R (SM630) has been tested a few times already in the Netherlands. Hereby a quick snippet: - Twan Hulshof, Journalist from MotoPlus You can follow more info about the tests on the FB page of the dutch importer: https://www.facebook.com/swm.benelux
We never got the Nuda, I'm curious to price point. They sure look and sound like a good bike for me, with exception to seat height. The smaller displacement is taller than the 650 from what I read. Six speed tranny and a fair gas tank. I thought I read somewhere that they are using the old Husky factory that BMW retooled recently, but I cannot find that info.
Maybe some one will do a larger tank for the SWM we can use on the TE630 ? 18 - 20 litres would be plenty I feel, please ? Cheers John
The SWM appears to be near identical to the TE630 so if it gets distributed widely I suspect the accessory mill will slowly crank up again. I don't particularly like the graphics on the SWM, and think they are a bit clumsy. But the bike underneath should be as good as the Husky, and likely provide parts for us.
IMO, the worst thing about this bike, comparing to TE 630 is the short length of suspension (for instance, 210mm front suspension) Why have not keep the TE 630, 270mm? I don't know. 210 mm is for me too short for a trail dirt oriented bike. Definitely, I wouldn´t purchase one because of this. Another issue… why do you think his web is “frozen”? It’s weird… The English page doesn’t work: http://www.swm-motorcycles.it/en/ And the Italian one only shows this: http://www.swm-motorcycles.it/
ADVpulse has info on the production version and they list front travel at 300mm and rear at 280mm. If true that's adequate! http://www.advpulse.com/adv-bikes/production-version-of-new-ajp-pr7-600cc-dual-sport-unveiled/
