So we went camping / riding this past weekend. The starter issues I was having were not present at all this weekend. The bike started every time and I rode it pretty hard so it was defiantly getting hot.

So now the question is how could I go from 5 straight days of having issues to no issues now. FYI I didn't touch the bike in any way between trips.

I have a 2012 TE250 with 50 hrs and 1440 miles. Today while riding bike started sounding funny made it almost back to civilization and bike stopped:mad: . Tried starter button and starter would not turn, tried to kick start, but kick starter was frozen also. Bike was able to shift into neutral no problem. Once I got it home I put it on the stand and rear tire spends freely. Going to take it to the dealer on Tuesday since the bike is under warranty, but curious what you guys think the issue is? Really like the bike, but cannot have it leave me stranded or to be unreliable. Thanks for any info.

got my bike back and it seems to be fixed Husky supplied new starter gears as previously mentioned but by using the starter with the faulty gears it weakened the starter motor so i had still had the same symptoms so husky came good with a new starter motor while it it was at the shop we double checked the valve clearances.
Seems OK Thx husky for supplying parts on a good will basis.

2013 TXC310R- More trouble shooting needed....no estart on the TXC310R. wiring and connections all good (TLugs all good)
Anyone know a good resistance measurement for the starter relay contacts? I'm getting @ 2.5 ohms across the closed contacts, seems high.

Starter Motor seems shorted (bad), almost zero ohms from pos connection to ground through the motor, I expected resistance. (will compare my 11 te)

Voltage drop to @ 8.5 volts at starter when all things are hooked up and starter relay is activated...... (bad OEM Yuasa and Ballistic unlikely, both read good unloaded both drop to @ 8.5 when start sequence is activated) still thinking a ground shorted motor because of this.

Good thing I have my 11 for comparison trouble shooting.

If anyone has static resistance values info let me know.

Bike kick starts ok (capacitor is good)

George was looking for those same values on relay last week.

    May have found them

starter motor is completely fried. thats the answer to why it doesnt work. Hope the reason is another freak failure, not a cause and effect issue. My 2011 TE310 has had zero issues with the starter for many trouble free hours of use. ok time to fix or run the TXCR in TC mode and remember how to kick again.

motor is at dealer for warranty claim, all good. shhtuff happens. still have question about resistance value across the starter relay contacts. Will check my 2011 TE starter relay for value.

The way I have checked relays is by voltage drop under load. There should be very little.
I just refreshed my memory by looking at an old Jeep factory shop manual and it says .05V per 100 amperes.
    A Jeep isn't a Husky but electricity doesn't discriminate. :)

starter- got the new one, installed system works great. I still need to check my 2011 starter relay contacts for resistance across the contacts.

Checked the starter solenoid (relay) on my 2011 TE310 for comparison.I read across the contacts and I read .4-.5 Ohms (and I never checked the test cable resistance so its probably a little less). My 2013 reads 2 solid ohms with no load, the starter cable is disconnected, which I stated sounds high to me, in a perfect world there would be 0 ohms across the contacts. .4-.5 is alot better than 2, I have a new relay on order for my 2013 TXC310R just to get as much power as possible down to the starter motor.

My 2010 TE250 is still E-starting great after a new ring gear/flywheel woodruff key and a tightening of the left exhaust valve a little on the tight side....on a 2 yr old Turntech battery too.

Has there been an actual HNA estarter service bulletin/recall issued for the TXC310R (for example) or other X-Lite engined bike?

Sorry I don't, my dealer contacted me and sorted it.

It is my understanding that the Starter Gear and Worm had the incorrect "Hardening". They replaced both, but to be honest the Parts looked identical !

However I have had zero issues since the new parts have been fitted.

Guess what after approx 300km two rides the problem has come back to haunt me seems like a temporary fix - I was also told by Husky in Australia that the hardening process had been improved and the new worm and gear would fix it - but the problem has come back - the starter now jams like previous and the voltage drop at the battery is quite high (8v) when you hit the button - hit the button again and away she goes - far too much load. I will be intouch wih my dealer tomorrow and i am extremely frustrated. I need the bike this weekend so kick start here we come so i dont do any further damage to the starter motor and battery. I will be copping alot of shit from mates on there bergs.
    Husky what is going on?

Wow! This is all pretty wild. I just picked up a brand-new 2013 TE310. This is my first Husky since I used to work for the co. back in the 70's. On my first ride in the so-cal desert the bike fired up great when cold but the button wouldn't even turn it over when hot. Couldn't kick-start it either-it turns over but won't start. But, if I used the button AND the kick-starter it fired right up! Did this all day long and the bike ran great otherwise...... Same issues the next day. Now it's back at the shop and I hope they know how to figure this out. Your talk about not pushing past tdc seems about right, but then you'd think it would kick-start ok. Enteresting times.....

I received a call from my dealer over the weekend and they asked me to bring my bike in for a starter replacement under warranty. I haven't had any issues with my 2013 TE310R to date but I only have 300 miles logged on it so far.

Guys I need some help. I have a '12 txc310. Bought it as a left over in January. Probably have 6 hours on bike. Wednesday my bikes starter gave out. I don't know why. It worked great all day long. I went down on a log and it hasn't worked since. Didn't go down super hard either. Now it just clicks in the realy but has current all the way to the starter. I've had a few people look at it and they all say the starter is shot. But what could have happened??? On top of that, my dealer won't warranty it because it's after 30 days from the time of buying it. Also the kick start takes forever to start the bike. They are going to charge me $250 for a new starter. This is ridiculous! I'll be honest, im kinda wandering if i bought the right brand...plz help!
