I'd love to take you up on that bet, if I had the coin for an iBeat. :)

German distributor ZUPIN has just sent a complete list of carbon parts for the 630. `Tis a pdf so sorry I can´t copy the complete list with pics ... but the heat shields etc. do look very nice.

Just installed the power-up kit in my 630. Idle went from an epileptic 1500-1900 to a smooth as silk 2000rpm. Off idle stumble and stalling issue gone! After 1100km of misery this bike is finally a pleasure to ride! Changed out stock 15/42 sprockets for a 14/45 combo. Bike can crawl along on the trails and is still quite comfortable at highway speeds.
Anyone know what size valve shims this bike takes? One valve a bit loose at 1000KM check.

Did you back the idle back down? I had to. The manual states that idle should be 1650.

Rather than worry about what size shims I'm going to need, I just bought a big kit full of everything I'll ever need from Hall's. My valves were in spec at 600 miles, but one was right on the edge of needing a shim. I left it alone. I figure It'll be due at the next service interval.

I would also say idle is high, but not sure what harm it is. They should idle fine at 1650 but you're right, when new, they tend to buck around, especially when cold.

Kelly at Motosportz has a package of shims that should be good for most all the modern 4T Huskies.

    Down towards the end.

After fitting the power up kit, the idle started to race and I then set it manually: since then it´s been ok & regular (set at 1400).

Agree: the bike´s totally transformed with the power up kit ... a totally new bike ... perfect!

You have yours idling way down at 1400 huh? How's that working for you?

I can see some heat and fuel economy issues if it's idling too high, but are there any problems with setting it too low? What about oil pressure? Doesn't the oil pressure drop with the idle?

The idle´s not stable at 1400; it varies somewhere between 1400 and a bit over 1500. It just sounds right the way it is now.

Backed down the idle to 1650. I wanted to know the diameter of the shims before I hauled the cams out. I have a set of 7.48mm shims and have access to most other diameters but wanted to make sure before diving in.

Oh, diameter. I was thinking thickness, for some reason. 9.48mm.

So what i wanna know is does the twin cam allow the bike to rev quicker than the 610 would and does it red line any higher with the new head?

I did hit the rev limiter once, but I wasn't looking too closely at the RPMs. I haven't seen anywhere in the documentation stating what redline is, but I think it's somewhere in the ballpark of 7,000 RPM.

Read somewhere a while ago and can't seem to find it now but from what I can remember max. power was 7200rpm and rev limit was 7800. Then again there were a couple of HPs floating around too of 57 and 63. I don't what to believe but I've seen it indicating a fair bit above 7000 but haven't hit the limiter yet.

I have bounced off the rev limiter a few times ...and it is well above 7g .

Have done 170 km/h .... once. It´s not what the bike´s made for and wind buffet is wicked. Think that max revs is just under 8000.

A little birdie told me the rev. limiter is set @ 8400rpm.

I'll say, I did a ride over the weekend that was mostly highway (250 mi. round trip) and passing cars in the wind wasn't what I'd call a relaxing experience. :)

I have a bunch of Dual Sports over the years and the 630 is by far the most stable in windy conditions!

I was on non-DOT knobbies, that probably didn't help.
