I have uploaded every PDF I have to my FTP server. I have a public account set up for people to access it.

I recommend FileZilla for grabbing the files. If you want a version of FileZilla that installs nothing on your machine and will vanish without a trace just by deleting the directory, go here:

    http://portableapps.com/apps/internet/filezilla_portable

PM me for FTP connection information.

I throttle the bandwith during key times that I like to use my internet connection. So, if your download seems slow, that's because it is.

Also, dealer called today. Said he is working with the factory on the power issue. Bike should run 100 MPH. Wondered about gearing. Says it should be 15-42. I will check tonight. Bike has a hard time pulling top gear, but can run 75+ in 5th, so maybe it is geared too tall?

Stock gearing is 15/42 vs 15/45 on the 610. The speeds @ maximum rpm in each gear is 35, 50, 68, 84, 100, 119 MPH and engine turns over 3800 rpm @ 60 mph in 6th. Seems to be geared really high for a dual sport!

I *think* the high gearing is to pass emissions, just my personal theory. :)

    My thoughts also, so far...

I like the gearing for the road, but I might change my tune once I get on some real dirt.

569 miles on the odometer. I changed the oil, for the sole purpose of replacing the oil pump gasket. The oil was a lot cleaner this time as far as shavings and gasket chunks go.

I also found my original drain plug crush washer in my oil drain pan. Oops!

It's all buttoned up now and I let it idle in the garage a while to see if it was still leaking anywhere. It appears to be leak free. But, I won't know for sure until I get out and ride it.

The first valve clearance check is coming soon! I have ordered up a few tools I need to complete it.

Went to go and look at the first batch of 630TE' and SM's that arrived this week at the importer here in South Africa this week.

We only have the black and red SM coming in here in SA. I must say i do not like the covering on the seat of the TE--the SM is fine but the TE looks like it has Acne or something. Like the one key system for the ignition-fuel cap and to unlock the seat. The graphics on the TE are a little too much white for me--like the SM More--but will not be selling the 09-610te i have soon. Our bikes we get here are not a srestricted as in the USA- We do not have such strict laws and Italy sets up the EFI system for South Africa --or so the importer --a Italian tells me.
Maybe in the future--but my 450TE and 610TE are safe for the moment.

They also got a few of the last 610TE's in ---nice

I rode it tonight, and the oil pump gasket is still leaking. I'm stumped. I'm going to browse through the repair manual to ensure I gave it enough torque. Other than that, the only other thing I can think of is gooping it up with some gasket sealer.

Is there a nick in the cover or housing? bumps or old gasket stuck to the mating surfaces? Could it be coming through a bolt head? A little permatex #2 would certainly do the trick.

I found 6.5 ft-lbs of torque in the repair manual. I was told to torque it to 5 ft-lbs. I can't imagine 1.5 ft-lbs makes any difference, but I'll give it a shot.

The cover has some casting pores in it on the gasket surface, but they don't look like they'd allow oil to seep around the seal. Everything was squeaky clean when I changed the gasket.

It's not coming through a bolt head that I can tell.

I re-torqued everything to 6.5 ft-lbs just now. I'll keep my fingers crossed, but I'm starting to lose faith. :D

Are you in 6th gear when you're doing this? If so that's the problem, you need to wind it out in 5th with stock gearing. My '09 TE610 will top out at 77 in 6th but it's chugging along below the powerband, drop it to 5th and it'll accelerate to 90+ remember redline is 8200rpm's so hitting max power at around 7k is not a problem. If I shift up to 6th after getting to 85+ the bike will actually slow down.

Yeah, it won't pull 6th gear very well. 80 MPH seems to be about max at 5000 RPM. In 5th it will do about 80 as well, but at 6000 RPM. Doesn't seem to have much if any more speed than that. The engine seems to have more low end power, bulk of the power seems to be in the 3500-5500 RPM range.

Going to try a 14 on the CS sprocket and see how that does.

It's not like you want to ride this bike at those speeds very long, bike is kind of squirrley at those speeds.

I do not understand these posts at all.

I've hit 104 on the GPS on my 610. 85-90 is just normal 'everyday' ridin:excuseme:

    Hi guys,

This is my first real post on cafehusky. I just picked up my TE 630(my first husky) last thursday from Scott @ RossRocher sales in Stratford. I now have 700k's on the bike and all is well. It seems to be making a bit more power everytime I ride it . Only real thing I have noticed, is that the bike seems a touch lean ...probably to pass emissions .Other than that ....tons of power for a dual sport.!

Welcome! Watch your oil pump cover for any oil seepage. Mine is leaking and I can't seem to stop it.

You 610/630 owners make me jealous. Like xymotic noted with his 610, the stock exhaust need to go. I imaging the twin 630 pipes are corking them up real bad. Someone needs to report back when they get some new cans on their 630.

Anyone plug a 630 into iBeat yet? Does it have the CO adjustments like the '09-'10 dohc models, or is it the same ole FB1 adj. only?

I would like to replace my DRZ with a TE 610/630, but the TE 510 is a keeper. :jawdrop: In the meen time I may be lurking in the 610/630 area. :notworthy:

Eventually, I'd like to get a single sided exhaust and a remap.

If I could find out where to get the exhaust and remap, I would do it next week. So far I have not found anyone that has a pipe for it yet.
