I don't have any pictures of oil on the engine on hand, but I can take some later on. I have changed the oil so often since I've gotten it (trying to fix this leak, doing maintenance, etc) that it hasn't really had oil in it long enough for me to have to add any.
1600k's on mine now ...no leaks .The bike is working great , no issues. Just had the first service check done yesterday ...valves where in spec and everything looks good !Rear tire is not far off from needing to be replaced...going with a Kenda Trackmaster 11 on the back and a Bridgestone M25 on the front for offroad use .I have a set of 17 inch rims/tires comming next week for street use ...excited about that ! Kevin
Make sure you get a tire with a better pattern if you plan on trail riding ...That stock tire is just scary off road with no side control knobbies on it ! Kevin
I'm a total offroad newbie. I did a pretty lengthy offroad ride last Saturday. Everything seemed decent to me, but I don't know any better. The gravel sections were a little sketchy feeling, though.
Hmm...It depends a bunch what you are riding on ....all sand around my area , just ask the guys you are riding with what they use ...always a great starting point. Kevin
Unmaintained dirt/gravel roads here, mostly. There's no singletrack or anything really technical to speak of. Here are some pics from the last ride: Oh, here you go, an oil leak pic. It's easier to see when there's dirt stuck to it:
Yeah...that is leaking quite a bit .Those look like great double track trails ! Lots of room to giver a little ! Kevin
That was probably the toughest part of the ride that day. It's actually a street; 190th St. The thing that amazed me the most was the occasional sign that read "Bus Stop Ahead" and the fact that people actually live on these roads!
I am lucky ....lots of woods riding around me ...well... was fun and kinda fast on my old 250 now became slighty more challenging on 630 due it's size ....but still fun ! Kevin
I had a blast. It's plenty of fun for me. Singletrack is my favorite on my MTB and no doubt I would love some tight technical stuff on my Husky. But, I have to travel to get that. It's hard to find the time for that sort of thing.
MTB here to ....your skills from that will help you in singletrack ....being able to track stand is a huge plus in bike handling ....it's mandatory when your short ....I can't touch with my motocross boots on ....makes for some intresting get off's at low speed ...lol
I've ridden my MTB all over the world (spent 6 years in the Navy and took my bike(s) everywhere with me). I've raced cross country and downhill. I lived in Hawaii (Oahu) for about 4 years. The island has some of the best technical riding around! I also have 30,000+ miles of sportbike experience. So, I'm definitely comfortable on 2 wheels.
The MotoZ's are nice. The last three rears that I've used are MotoZ. They aren't DOT approved though. The closest one to a dualsport tire is the Tractionator Desert HT. It does ok on pavement. Great for harder dirt terrain. Very durable. IT Enduro is nice too but more of a knobbie and doesn't handle pavement as well as the DesHT.
I just installed the lambda removal kit. So far, all I've done is start it up and let it warm up in the garage. The bike starts up easier, and idles smoother. I even had to adjust the idle down, as it was idling much higher than it should now that the kit is installed. I'm going to take it out for a short ride this morning and report back. If smoothing out the idle is all it does, it was money well spent, IMO.
Thats the same part numbers for the 610te i got from halls last month for some scoots i am doing here in SA.
Back from my ride... This is how these bikes should ride off the showroom floor! Low RPM power delivery is MUCH better. Deceleration exhaust popping is gone. If anyone is buying a 630, get these three parts ASAP!
Yes. It plugs into the wiring harness up under the tank, right on the frame. I also had to cut and replace two zip ties that hold the harness onto the frame. I used a 3rd zip tie to secure the jumper plug. It was a bit too short to reach the two original zip tie locations. The whole process took less than an hour.
