leo vince full ti single just installed the leo full system today. install went smooth and easy. pics:
haven't ridden it yet as as it's been raining all day. i started the bike up after installing it and it's not too loud at all without the insert. hopefully the rain clears and can take the bike out sometime this week to see how the bike rides. can't imagine there will be too much of a noticeable difference.
Looks great! Have you taken it out for a rip yet ? curious to know how it runs ? Does it come with anything for the ignition?
I had the power up kit installed with the stock exhaust. I haven't discussed with my dealer if it needs to be re-tuned for the Leo or not. I imagine it could benefit from ecu adjustment. I'll probably be taking it into motoxotica after the holidays if Dan says I should. Taking it out tomorrow for a quick spin. Will report back after the ride.
Took the bike out for a ride this afternoon and honestly can't tell a huge difference between the stock setup + power up kit and the leo's + p/u kit. Throttle response does seem a bit better and bike pulls really well in every gear but it did with the pu kit with the stock system as well. Imagine with a dyno + tune you can see some more significant improvements but that's really not why I bought the system. Also the sound of the pipe at wot is well within a reasonable level. I was more after the weight loss benefits of going to a single pipe. All in all happy with the system.
According to Leo Vince www.leovince.com/files/F6394/GP-3592_TE.pdf the full Ti system is 17+ lbs lighter than stock and gain 4 hp, mostly in the upper RPM range.
Yes! But how much lighter is it and how much more power does it put out than the leo vince twin zorst? And is this with or without the P/U kit?
I'm not sure how many aftermarket exhsuasts you've installed on your bikes but i've never experienced much noticeable hp gains with exhausts even on a 170hp bike. I've usually only noticed fixing problems with in smoothing out certain parts of the powerband where there mnight be dips that exist. Primary gains for me have always been weight loss, especially when the weght is located so high on the bike. And if people think that 3-4 hp is going to make any difference than it's your empty wallet from buying the exhaust speaking.
I agree. I'm also interested in it just for the weight loss. However, I'd like to keep things tuned so as not to start having fuel issues.
On the left is the full titanium single - right side is dual slip-on. The numbers are without the P/U kit. The full single titanium saves 7.9 kg (17.4 lbs) The dual alloy silencers save 1.1 kg (2.4 lbs) The dual stainless silencers saves 1.6 kg (3.5 lbs)
That's the conventional wisdom but the graphs above show just the opposite. The dual showing more improvement in the 4 - 6 K range where the single gives more more at 6+ K. Aint data wonderful.
Seems to me the dual exhaust is more for cosmetic purposes than increased power. If Husky wanted to take full advantage of the dual setup I would think it would be better to run the header pipes individually instead of 2-1 and then a 90 deg. T into 2 in order to snake the pipe over to the right muffler. After all, isn't it better to have the pipe bends as smooth as possible! I bet at high flows there is much more exhaust out of the left muffler than the right.
Doesn't the single Ti include the header and the dual cans are only slip ons? DUALS http://www.leovince.com/files/F23526/DT-3591.pdf SINGLE http://www.leovince.com/files/F20269/DT-3592.pdf
Yes and the dual slip ons are the old style with removable end caps. The single is a full Ti with carbon fiber, much nicer.
Question was, whether a dual or the single Vince looks better. (Personally, I´d also prefer the Vince titanium, but it wasn´t availabe at the time.
