...but they arent exactly the same inside. 5 spd vs 6 at the very least.

Im holding out for the cooler with chrome fins myself :-)

The TC449 is 5 speeds. Technically 2011 and 2012 cases are different, but for practical purposes, they are exactly the same. ;P

I cant believe an engineer said "practical purposes" and "exactly" in the same sentence :)

I think we really have a 6 spd vs 5 speed vs 2011 vs 2012 case issue and the tech writers figured .... yea they are "exactly" the same !!

Im putting a liter in my 6 speed 2011 449 and we will see if she blows, pre and post Tinken vent (that should be trademarked)

Hahaha you got me on that one. I only recommend the max amount of 1150cc, but I had to do the no brainier test of putting the bike on it's kick stand and filled the case until it over flowed out the fill threads. Still, no oil past the breather bottle. 1150cc of 40 weight oil would work fine. :)

Yesterday Danny at Zipty said the breather mod would ship today. I'm guessing the bottle will be another few weeks...

I will ask when I run by the shop today. Ty transported my 511 to the machine shop on Monday for fitting of another prototype. The bottle is a bit more complicated than everyone elses because it fits four models across 3 years with all different types of headers.

The Breather vents are now officially up for sale here: http://www.cafehusky.com/threads/breather-vent-mod.31183/page-4#post-294352

The vent comes with a 1/2" vacuum cap that goes on the oem breather.

I like the idea of adding a straight AN fitting to the fill plug and then a swivel 45-90° similar to what Randy produced. This would be much more convenient come oil time and look good.

I'd like to see a pic of the oil fill plug with a barb or one of the fittings shown above installed. Also, where are those fittings shown above from and what size would be appropriate? I just want to get this whole kit together before I put it on the bike. I don't know what size hoses, etc to run. I could figure it all out; I'm not that stupid...but I wouldnt mind capitalizing on someone else's research haha.

Perfect, red is fast and black is stealth! Where did you find those?

Got the breather mod, planning to do tonight. Nice looking mod Tinken. I think I will wait for the bottle and tap filler cap to mess with AN fittings.

Jegs and Summit racing are two great retailers, though I buy mostly from Jegs. I hadn't responded yet because I was thinking of an answer to K5PL5.
Stay away from AN 5, it's an odd ball size. My oil return that is currently on my 511 now is AN -4 which works with stainless steel tubing. AN -6 will probably be what I will be going to for all my oil breather connections. The valve cover vent currently just has a 3/8" hose pressed onto it without a clamp, there is no pressure and it doesn't leak, but I will end up dressing up things a bit with simple AN fittings from Jegs. Our return cap will take up to a 1/4" npt thread, but 1/8"npt works fine too.
