Hmmm...your avatar says 'Lake Arrowhead'....so tell us more about this collision. I've spent years riding SBNF and watched all the trails get punched out to 5' from the kwads. I refuse to ride up there anymore after two head-ons in one day. Do you know Keven Clarkson? KTM 200 rider? EDIT: BTW, what shop are you using?
Hi CJ: I know the feeling about not riding up there. It is not as much fun as it used to be. From 2008 until 2012 the trails were some what deserted and you could take a nice run around Cleghorn or Pilot Rock, without seeing a sole. Now days unless it is Sunday afternoon passed 4:00 p.m. you take your life in your hands, quads/rhino's and sedans all going way to fast. I was riding 2n17 out of the Silverwood staging area heading towards the Arrowhead shooting range and was about a 1 mile away from 2n36 which takes you down into Miller canyon. I was on a section that was mostly straight with a very slight right hand bend. According to the group I was riding with the Rhino came around the bend fast over corrected and launched themselves into me. Thank God I was riding with friends because I woke up in Loma Linda. My 630 (which is running just fine now) needed everything front to back on the left side. New triple trees, new handle bars, new left fork, steering stem, I think it is the alternator case, pegs, all plastics, and sub frame, it was a mess. The shop that repaired it was Eric's in Pasadena. Great Great guy and shop. They closed awhile ago so now I get my stuff from Honda/Yamaha/Husqvarna of Redlands. The people there are wonderful and with the help of their Husky rep found a 2011 tank shroud for me. I don't know Keven but I probably should, as this wreck caused two of my buddies to hangup their gear. Since I see more dirt riders in Big Bear I am going to try that area this summer and see if it is any better, but I kinda doubt it. If you have any suggestions about where to ride I am open. I just like to ride/explore and live to tell about it. By the way your tech tips are GREAT. Enjoy Your Ride! Chuck
