Thanks a lot guys! I wish you could see them in real life. I took a ton of pics trying to capture them and then took awhile deciding which ones to post because none of them show how they really are. All the side view pics don't show them well at all because they disappear. SW Motech will be a waaay cheaper option for you mario33. I couldn't even build you a part of one side for what they are selling there's for....Chinese labor is much cheaper. It is a huge compliment though and I thank you! I will send you something someday Mario....something a lot less labor intensive that doesn't interfere with my current business as much. Thank you! Paint is what I went with. I have so much time in these that I just wanted to get them on and completed. It is no big deal to touch them up if needed. If the paint doesn't hold up, I will pull everything off next winter and have it all powder coated. My powder coat shop just got real busy and it would help him out more when times are slow in winter anyway. Thanks Ken and Kjack! I am extremely curious about what Safari is going to do. I can always cut and weld again to make a larger tank fit...or just stick with my RotoPax. Dunno...like I said, very curious. I will thank you from all of us TERRAFORMERS! It cracks me up about the 4" sewer pipe though. I have seen these on $20,000 bikes and on $1000 bikes. Its just so brilliant, tough, and simple. I am always open to better ideas though if you have one...or two. I definitely want that tool weight down low. The music was sure good while doing this project! Says he posted it at 3:41pm on my screen. I'm pretty sure this forum software converts all times to local time (or whatever time your computer is set to). I notice when I load the main screen that all of the times every time I load it.
It shows 10:43 on mine...hmm. That would be one of my earlier posts anyway. 10pm to 12am is my creativity time in the shop and I usually post after I come in at around 12am to 3am and that is usually when Mario is also on line. I think that he is also referring to those times we are here at the same time. It was funny when Ken was here because he would go in at around 10 and I would stay out until about 2 or 3 am...but he was also up at the crack of dawn and I wasn't. It was kind of cool to have our alone times in the shop to create things a little differently and unique to us.
Ha, Fab and I definitely have different schedules; I was up this morning at 4 am, fixed coffee, pulled the rear wheel on the 630 and balanced it, re-installed, all before 5:30. 4 is a little early for me, but the temp outside is perfect for fooling around outside.
Skid plate back from the welder and I am doing a few things to it. Have to drill holes to allow insertion of the lower engine mounting bolt, and probably trim a little at the top for the same reason. I also drilled holes in the right side to allow insertion of my trail stand to allow taking off the front and rear wheel trailside. Note that I did not have the plate welded to the engine mounting lugs as they need to squeeze together when torquing the bolts. It's plenty strong with just the bottom edge welded to the lower plate. We used 1/8" plate for the wings. Tomorrow morning I'll finish drilling and get it on the bike. Pics then. Oh, note that the left side angle is a little more than the right, to clear the water pump hose better.
Skid plate on. I wish there was time to dress it up with a few more holes and get it anodized, but that will have to wait a while. At least I have good protection now.

Yes indeed. "That looks pretty good, although I wuld prefer black. This one won't conflict with my skid plate. The upper crossover that Fab made is really good, and maybe that could be added here.
Wierd, left side is lower than the right side...I dont like that! The right (higher) side looks soooooo much better !
Emailed them about it suggesting they build the production bars like the right (higher) side! If others here can do the same hopefully they will do it!
I was thinking the same thing. Seems like they are not symmetrical? Doesn't look right. I like the simplicity of the design.
I would say partially its optical illusion (bike leaning to the viewer on the last photo) and also its development phase now. Can see no sense in making them asymmetrical.
I suspect that the bars in the pic are prototypes and that they will make corrections in the final product. Hope so anyway.
