I believe F1U had mentioned that his do touch but it is not too bad. These look like they may be just a tad bit closer in at upper mount point than Fab's. Like KW (and the bottom of their pictures) state...."Images are not reflective of final product". They are just posting up some teaser pics to get everyone excited, and also to keep us all from emailing them for pics.
Dude you've got a lot of money in tools and tool boxes. I see a lot of SNAP ON and we have their tool boxes at work, not cheap...Plus your lathe and pipe bender, welding equiptment, and all your other tools. Easily 40 thousand in tools probably (if all those tools boxes are full) if not more.
What the heck!? I am glad I finished my bars before this came out. I would have had to abort the whole project! I am trying very hard to come up with my own designs....obviously they are not. Good points here about knee clearance, spark plug access and cross bars. I was concerned about the knee clearance on mine as well, but when you are in a relaxed and normal riding position, it isn't a problem at all. I grip my bike with my knees only when I am cold and I am trying to get that little extra heat from the motor. I am sure the right side being high is for spark plug access. It doesn't make any sense to put the left one lower...it would only make the oil plug harder to get to and it looks real bad. It definitely is not a finished product as they state. If they keep them this way without a cross bars for extra support, I would go with the Motech's if I had to choose between them as they sit.....but again I/we are sure they are not finished. Too much flex the way they sit without a cross support....trust me!
Thanks HARDER1! I see you must be a new up and coming mechanic and you are just now getting a grip on what your new career is going to cost you (just a guess..correct me if I am wrong). This is a lifetime of tools. One of the first in this collection was a used Snap-On 1/2" drive ratchet that my father handed me when I was 13. It was my first time on a Snap-On truck and I just stood there looking around at all the chrome when my dad looked down at me and said " Here you go...your first Snap-On tool". That was the first and last tool he ever bought me. I acquired all the rest on my own and sorry to tell you, but 40K will just fill a top box with professional tools. Good luck to you, if my intuition is right, and you chose a very good career in this day and age.
Don't think those rad guard bars are different heights. The bike in the picture is still sporting the stock cabbage patch kickstand. Anyhow, that's what I think.
Lol....hopefully they match the higher side! I emailed them yesterday too and havent heard back which side is the correct height. If they go high, I am buying a set
I just swung by Altrider and checked out the prototype crash bars. Pics are posted on the Altrider pre-order page
Slowly but surely….I've collected the materials needed to begin my saddlebag rack fabrication. Super Kudos to FabOneUp, for kindly making these snazzy steel bushings. They are priceless jewels to me! This is the solid crossover bridge I made: And it all goes here… The bushings on the front tailrack mounts and the bridge on the rear mounts. More to come…..I have to incubate longer. HF
Nice!...and your welcome HighFive. . That is a sweet little twist on design you got going there. So, are you going to paint em cherry red!?
