I've got a 2010 TC250 and I'm game to test a Lectron for you. It would be best for me to try it this spring when the MX track opens for the year, as it's the only place I've ever ridden this particular bike (for comparison's sake). When the time comes I will contact you Kelly...

Update. So I have a few carbs here for testing / sorting out. I will be borrowing Blakes CRF450 to test one on and Steve (Xcavator) will be testing the 44mm for the 610. Should be interesting. Will have info soon. thanks

Depending on what year and model 610 we are talking about there may be an issue with trying to adapt a throttle position sensor. I think I might have a solution for that if you run into a situation where you need it.

i thought about that too, because it's an 07 w/TPS. I'm not sure how much the ECU reacts to the TPS as far as timing. I know when tuning my 450 I disconnected the TPS to see what would happen and couldn't tell much difference, but I didn't run it that much that way.:excuseme:

I'm in. My 2006 610 would love this mod. It would be great if I could test it on my summer full length TAT run.

Funny, Jake just stopped by in 40 degree weather on his transalp to get a Lectron from me and then 5 minutes later Steve (Xcuvator) shows up on a KLR650 and picks up the 610 Lectron from me. Hard core :>)

As soon as you tell me you have it sorted out for the 610, report it here. I will hop over to your site and buy one. I am very interested in the mileage and altitude adjustment (more than power).

bad news on the 450... I raped it all weekend at the dunes, and now she won't start. I got two great days of riding in, and I went to start it today for a quick ride before we left, and I couldn't get it started. I got home, and tried to start it again. She backfires, and once every 20-ish kicks, she'll fire, but not start. Gonna check valves asap. She has over 200 hours on her with no adjustments what-so-ever, so that's most likely the case.

What year is yours? I'm sure you know about intake valve problems. But, you remember Chad? Finally, we both got tired of waiting for him to get his bike started (50kicks and think loud backfire ha ha), and put in a fresh (bigger 45) pilot and adjustable IMS. It started great after that and when I checked his valves they were perfect.
MY guess is a plugged pilot?

Quite possible plugged pilot, but I did just completely clean the carb, and put back together with fresh fuel, and inline filter. We'll see. I will start with a valve check (it's been at least 50hrs since I've checked them). If those are in spec, Then I'll pull the carb again, and check it out. I hope it is the carb honestly.

And now that I think about it, I have no idea if this is related, but it seemed like the idle was set to low the first day, all day. The second day, it was idling way high. Like 3-400 higher than normal. It even ended up overheating, but I was lugging it for a long time in DEEP sand. It took me a while to get back into the routine of starting this beast. Not like the 165 :(

No doubt a good idea about checking the valves and de-compreseor. I read your post about the carb cleaning. Don't forget that those bronze filler openings aren't much smaller than the small holes in your PJ
I hate working on Hondas, that frame is a real bugger to work around.

Yep valves or pilot jet. I need to sort some stuff out anyway before we could make this happen. Will talk with you soon.

Really looking forward to what happens on a 4 stroke. I can just imagine what it'll do to my 06 510. Perfect jetting 24-7 & better mpg's? I'm waiting with baited breath

Steve, you are the man... I was diving straight in to check the valves, and I remembered this post of yours... Instead, I loosened the carb boots, turned it sideways, and popped the drain plug out of the bottom. The Pilot was sitting in the bottom of the carb. That explains why it was idling super high the last day... I can't believe it even ran like this... Once it cooled down, I couldn't get it started the next day though...

Another reason to have a jet-less carb...

Stuck the pilot back in, and she runs again

Hey Blake, I'm glad you got to the "bottom of it", but what you found wasn't exactly a plugged pilot. Maybe about the same effect?
