Pegs went well. Wore off half a slider when I ate sh!t in the wet. First time racing A grade and it was in the wet and I sucked bigtime. Guys that killed it all had wets on, I had my Goldspeed Street Ultras which were better than slicks bit not as good as wets. Quickshifter worked an absolute treat! Could pull away from others quite well. Slipper clutch saved me a few times in the wet. Rear shock I'm sure was great but I couldn't really tell sliding around all goofy like in the wet.
Snapped my GoPro off when I stacked it! Didn't have it turned on either! Should be able to get some vids from the other guys out there. I had fun when the track started to dry out.
Just put in an order through a groupbuy for some new rubber. $890 for a set of slicks and a set of wets from Jovian at www.josmoto.com.au
When I lived in OZ all my tyres was bought off Jovian. Also bought my Alpina through him, a chain, front MotoMaster disk and other stuff He's been in the supermoto sport for many years and will stretch a long way to help one out on parts and price.
That YZ250 just moved up to A Grade with me. He recently bought a TM 530 worked SM bike but blew the water pump. There is a KTM250 that's pretty quick in A Grade also. He runs thinner rear tyres, after much testing he is faster with them than 150 or 160 rears.
Just got my Ti Akra header back from getting an AutoTune bung welded on. Also thanks to Brembo for the idea with P3 carbon heat shield. If anyone has this header they may have noticed their gear being burnt/melted onto it. (Mostly during race starts).
Just like doing things right the first time thats all might aswell get it done while they are getting Laced up.
Ohlins TTx22 inserts, DLC coating, SKF seals, travel check orings, anodised bases. All couresty of David at fastbikeindustries.com. Guy is a wizard with this suspension trickery! As she sits now. Forgot to mention I had two RingMasterImages gripper seat covers trimmed up into 1 Pleated gripped by a local lad down here for $80 turned out awesome! Butt def doesn't slip now! After a short test ride the bike is a total animal! The difference is amazing! I am noticing my clutch is quite loud at idle. When I pull the lever in it makes no noise. Hope it's not an issue with the slipper.
It looks great! Now that you have the green low friction SKF seals and the DLC coating, do you feel a perceptible improvement in the smoothness of the fork stroke?
In the short test ride ride I did I couldn't tell you specifically. The real test will be in two weeks for the final race round of the season. I found braking was massively improved! No chatter and i could swear it was pulling up twice as quick. There was a real lack of turns to test on so some good tight switchbacks will really show the difference. The other thing is Autotune and the Accel Pump settings I applied. The bike feels much more crisp and responsive. Once again a real race test will show the big changes!
Nice forks, but mine are better lol Dave is a wizard so you won't be disappointed! The biggest difference I noticed on my short test ride was the damping improvement, less dive and more progressive over bumps.
