The OBD2 adapter has numbered pins. They should be evident by looking inside the pin sockets. On the OBD2 connector, pins 5, 7 & 16 are the ones required. It looks like you are using 4, 7 and 16. Also, make sure the computer sees the OBD2 device in your windows device manager with no errors.
Thanks for attention When i plug in the computer with xp the usb socket the wagcom program recognizes it and says it is working. For absurd I could do the diagnosis at my fiat point 1900 jtd. The problem in my opinion and ibeat software does not recognize the usb. The correct port on my computer and n 7 and even ibeat i enabled n 7 .... because it does not work ??
How did this end? And Rotax, did you install an additional software for the cable? Or it is recognized correctly as a COM slot? Because I had some issues getting the correct program for my cable (to identify USB-COM)
So my new to me TE630 had some stumbling issues and disconnecting the JD tuner and using the recommended settings has seemed to smooth out the bike. I started with 102,108, 120 but the bike seemed to bog at low rpm/idle when I grabbed some throttle and kinda had a rich smell. I dropped it to 100, 105, 115 but still seems a little bit rich. The bike seems to be pulling much harder though now it just seems to be sluggish in low rpm on the trail. I'm not sure if this related but since I've had the bike it refuses to start unless I blip the throttle unless its warm no matter where I had the JD or Ibeat set. Maybe I need to turn the idle up? It's under 1650 rpm until it warms up a little. I've also noticed I'm hearing a boiling sound when just taking the bike for a 15-20 minute ride on the road. (No time idling or excessive starting stopping in traffic) And the fan has yet to come on. Dealer told me its normal unless its boiling over? I ordered a new temp sensor just in case. Mods on the bike are full Leo Vince single and EHS pre filter. I noticed the snorkel was removed but the previous owner blocked the hole so just the EHS is sucking in air.
I'd unblock the hole and reinstall the snorkel. Who knows how much air is able to flow thru the EHS. .
The computer recognizes it as a usb port and calls it COM 7 Ibeat does not recognize it even if you enable COM 7 He would try to make some pictures to explain it better
I believe that is a driver problem. Correct that by going to that device and deleting it, then reinstall it with the drivers that came with the adapter before inserting it. This has been my way of fixing it in the past. Here is a link to the drivers I use and an instruction sheet for it as well. http://www.ross-tech.com/vag-com/usb/virtual-com-port.html
Ok, I don't have the snorkel but I'll try a new filter/spark plug/temp sensor and see about unblocking the hole for now. The filter was so drenched in oil it was pooling and leaking. Are the faint boiling sounds normal under normal running conditions?
It does not work in any way this cable I have built. I accept all your new ideas. Also to by the original cable semcodesigns
Rotax, what are specs on your OBD2 cable your using? I have use this one on 2 2009 and worked well with a 32bit XP lap top. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00871CJ1W/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 The question above about using pin 5 of 4, that will depend on you cable some will use 5 and some 4. Mine used 4, I pulled the cover off and it had a wire on pin 4 and nothing on pin 5. My cable only had 4 wire connected to the pins, so 12 of the pins have nothing going to them.
Has anyone successfully use one of these cables? Anyone? looking at the specs I'm not seeing anything the same as "VAG-COM KKL cable and the VAG-COM 409.1 " that I'm using. not saying your cable wont work. It might be work a try?
