I agree . I did shorten one of the vent hoses but I will drain the tank and the oil
    and put in a filter.
Could the lean bog be caused by the dirt stopping float from petrol from coming in
and then this creating a low pressure to suck up the slide ? something did
    and it was very mechanical
I think it was also the needle angle that was part of issue

    - anyway hopefully its not going to happen again -

Started the bike and it was reving at high revs constantly
Adjusted cable back at throttle and now will not idle
Cable seems to move around and is not tight
The throttle cable has a few loose thin wires sticking out
This may be causing the issue I think I have been slack in adjusting the cable correctly when putting the PWK on
I guess I need a new cable now and need to get it right
I am finding the idle screw isnt changing the revs
Anyway just a lesson to myself that throttle cables are pretty important and my mechanical skills suck:busted:

You should be able to feel 3 or 4 millimeters of play at the throttle grip when you have the cable and the idle screw both adjusted properly. The cable should never be taught or taking over the function of the idle screw.

I was observing someone who shall remain nameless using a vise grips with a lot of pressure to hold the throttle cable while making needle changes. As you can imagine his cable is crimped and will fail sooner than later. He won't be making that mistake again or face further humiliation at the hands of his "friends".

Just found this :) looking around since the throttle stuck open at the nw gathering .. Put a motion pro cable on it 3 months back... Thinking I should do a new assembly ? Always happens when I'm aggresive and going through whoops.. And btw I don't use vice grips anymore :)

ALWAYS run an inline fuel filter...doesnt matter whats already in the tank acting as a filter...thats a golden rule if you want to avoid problems...many times i have pulled someone tank off and the filter is rolling around in the bottom of the tank. just good cheap insurance
