I see Twisted Throttle has a lot of items added to their Terra/Strata line up now including Crash Bars and Skid Plates.

Yes they did, but having been in design & manufacturing, I am not going to repeat the date - cause delays can happen...

My guess would be quite early in May. Keep in mind I've just became associated with this company which has come on as a sponsor.

Ideally they would let us know here on Cafe Husky.

I also ordered Altrider crash bars. You would think that at my age I would have developed some patience and a little understanding of the development and production process. If you thought that.....you would be wrong. I WANT MY FARKLES AND I WANT THEM NOW !!

Therein lies the beauty of being overseas right now. I'm 8000mi away from my TR for two more months. Patients isn't my virtue, but geography is fully enforcing it. :D

I am trying to compare the altrider and sw mototech crash bars, and i cannot make sense of the dimensions. Which one appears to offer more protection? The altrider one seems to offer more coverage in the vertical dimension. I am tempted to order the one that is available now, but it also seems to mount where my bash plate already is.

    Don't know.

But I am definitely getting the ALTrider crash bars, and the Motosportz skid plate. And will report back soon.

Pretty impressive... My 2 cents: would love them ano red  and would love some kind of covering plug for joints (horrible pieces of tube used for bolting thre bars to the frame on the sides).

Besides, I just noticed your price for sidestand foot enlarger... o'er 50 bucks  you're kiddin' us, right ?

I will say this, the Altrider foot enlarger is beautiful (even looks a little like the Husky Crown). I have the touratech and it functions, but isn't a work of art. April is almost over... Hopefully we will see some crashbars and skid plates in the mail soon :applause:

I am looking for crash bars for the Strada or street, where cars (specifically minivan with pilots talking on cell phones) bumpers hit around the foot pegs. I can see the current (only) Terra crash bars are good for off road, and I would not mind the extra protection on the road as well. But I'd like something to prevent my ankle from being shattered in 200 pieces as well (victim of minivan side impacts on F650 and truck too, both pilots were still talking on the cell phone when they got out of their minivans after the wreck.

And if you Terra riders ride on the road, this could happen to you as well. I don't know it the BMW G650 crash guard will work, but it may be possible (if donkey's fly??)

Are we talking about donkeys or crash bars? I'm confused. :D

I think the crash bar market is about to open up a bit. AltRider has theirs in production, as does SW Motech. Happy Trails has accessories in development too. I reckon Touratech will release something before too long as well.

OK fellow Husky enthusiasts! The delivery date for the crash bars is now available. Barring any crazy machine failure, and/or acts of God, the bars will start shipping on the 21st of this month. There is a slight possibility of getting something out earlier but that is off the record as far as I am concerned. To give you a little insight into what is happening now instead of just giving you a date to wait for.... bars are being built. This means, cutting, bending, some more cutting, welding, bead blasting, in some cases powder coating, and drinking beer when the boss is not looking. (of course not while operating heavy machinery!).

After the first production run is completed, we normally test one set and this will be easy because we own a Terra so no chasing a bike down. If all fits well we approve them to go into distribution globally. That means depending on where you are located you will have them in a manner of days. For those in Europe it may take an additional 2-3 weeks to get exported to our warehouse in the Netherlands.

So there you have it. We hate to keep you waiting, we love your business, and we hope you choose AltRider bars if you are still on the fence.
