That stepchild would be dropped off at a nice house in a bassinet...for years that word (ktm)was not allowed to be used in my house. From birth I programmed my boys to hate orange motorcycles.....lol (nk)

i ve been testing the new 2015 YZs last sunday on a very narrow indoor mx track- it was by far the best suspension i ve ever ridden. regarding to the yamaha mechanic the WRs suspension will be re-valved but apart from that the same- first time in years they really do something to their bikes.
I did not like 4strokes the way the handle/behave but the YZ250F was so different to what i was used to... (i was recently testing a RMZ 450 2014, CRF250 2013, RMZ 250 2014. KTM SXF 350) but this was just so much better to me...
I ll be very curious how good the WRs really are when they are at the dealers.

I've only ever read good things about the YZ250F, hopefully the extra weight on the WR doesn't kill the feeling.

I'm not ready to part with my milk truck husky yet but I see the yz wr250r street/off road version for around $ 6,600. That's affordable.

I would like a cool looking on off road bike but I perfect a 2t. Having e start, desert gas tank, plus the popcorn sound getting intense when the front wheel comes up is only a thing the 2t can do.

On the other hand the new Yamaha does look awesome prices wise too.
My main thought when buying a new bike is how is getting parts? Is there a overnight or some kind of factory, manufacturer parts supply?

The discount place over in Albany NY for a 2015 wr250r is which I suspect is different than this thread is about $6690+295+65 plus sales tax once you go to motor vehicles in Ct. The 2014 is 5999++. I don't see the WR250F.
It is a shame it is so hard to get someone to pay attention to you when walking into a motorcycle/atv/utv/generator/etc shop even one that has a significant radio advertising budget.

Bike bandit and rocky mountain have the big 4 parts in exploded views and easy to order on line. They most likely can overnight stuff if you call in person. Acatually KTM is going back to listing their stuff on such sites. Not sure how wise this is for them as checking their parts for the last series of engine can be a bit shocking. I like to look at what is inside and see how tall the pistons are.

Just a 2T YZ250 with a working would be a start. Seems no decent options for a lighting coil on Yz's now.

    Yes, with off-road mods.
6th gear & wider ratios, electric leg, lights, side stand etc....
Same engine, cams, compression ratio, head, just different tuning & larger heavier starter-drive type flywheel & big ugly muffler.
They have added a lot of weight over the YZF but still keen to try one.

It's a wide ratio with a low first gear with the rest of the gear ratios being close. They said in the add. I hate that big can on all the four strokes. That's gotta go. They said it has programmable performance. With the optional switch on the handle bar or using the hand held tuner. Is there a yz450f that's the same bike with a bigger engine.

If my wife gave birth to a 82 husky cr500 I'd get her some sleeping pills to get more during the daytime too.
