Updating My 430

    i see now, the stuff you are doing is just correcting the errors in the ims peg. i was kinda wondering how you were going to adapt those to fit the 87-88 style! the ims peg should go right on your 86, as the 86 auto has the peg design that still used the 70s style and is "easy" to find aftermarket. i would think you should be ok as long as the peg has a good solid surface to sit on to avoid "the sag" with use.

    the 87-88 bikes could use an upgrade as well cuz they have tiny pegs, it just requires surgery. if you bolt on the earlier style they will be "off" 45 degrees. thats why i had to weld up a pair for mine. i would like to come up with a better solution.

    heres the way i welded some up for my 88, they feel 10x better than the stock ones. i basically welded these newer husky pegs to the mounting part of the original peg. would like to come up with a better solution perhaps. they have held up well tho. here you can also see my larger brake toe piece added from a 90s husky, also a very nice feeling mod that was sorta free. the stock one is super tiny

    Nice... I'm rebuilding my 80 CR and installing late model USD forks also. I'm glad I'm not the only one because I think it's a great idea.

    The bolt location and angle was a match, but had to cut the corner off the frame and make a plate to weld in for a peg mount/resting point.

    Just saw them at a bike shop and made it work

    I swear you've looked into my basement some how lol. I have done the exact samething to my 86 auto you are doing to yours at the moment. The peg situation I think is one of the more trickier thing's to do but you and I have done our pegs the same way and think it will hold up alright. I've also drilled holes in my pegs so the stock springs will work with them aswell.
