After my conversion, I was told the ABS had to "relearn" itself, which would take about 5 miles of riding. The dealer did a shakedown ride immediately after installing the spoke wheels and when I got on the bike, there was no ABS error at all. I haven't seen it come back either. So I presume that everything resolved itself in their shakedown ride, as the tech told me he was indeed able to trigger the ABS on the ride.

    What Hub did they use?
I thought I saw somewhere you say it was a RAD hub, but I dont see a BMW 650 nor TR650 listed on their site.

Thanks for the affirmation. I was concerned there might be a computer difference between the non-US market ABS Terras and U.S. Stradas that wouldn't deal with the more extreme 17/19 to 17/21 combination. Your explanation seems plausible. I did 25 miles with three resets one day and then 5 miles last night with no resets required.

Didn't ride to work this morning as a I have a meeting I need to wear a monkey suit to today, but expect errand running all day tomorrow on it.

A follow-up from this weekend after doing 300 miles in the 21" Woody's and 19" Dakar combination. No errors on the way to my destination, but on my way back home I had my ABS light come on again. I tried stopping and restarting once, but came on again after just a couple of miles. I finished my ride home and checked my rear tire pressure...and it was down to 30 psi from the 36 I had set last week. So, I know I have a leak in the tire and will sort that issue out.

So, I *think* it's more likely that this 21"x17" combination is right on the edge of tolerance. A few PSI low and it's tripping the computer.

I pumped it to 38 this morning and no error riding 10 miles to work. As I wear the TKC80 out further (it has 50% tread now) I'll monitor.

I also did look at the fiche and the 17/21 ABS Terras appear to have the exact same ABS tone rings as the 17/19 Stradas.

So without having to read everything again, can we confirm the Dakar weeks will fit with no mods required?
Has anyone in Australia priced up the terra stock wheels?

Touratech lists the same wheel for the following bikes: F650GS, F650GS Dakar, G650GS, G650GS Sertao

I know for a fact that the TR wheels fit on a BMW Sertao with no modifications, and vice versa. It's a safe bet that any of the above wheels should fit the TR650.

Since it has been confirmed that F650GS wheels will fit with no mods, than I'll say the holy-grail of wheels would be Kineo's.

They make a 2.15x21 front, 2.50x19 front, and a 17x3.75 rear, true tubeless spoked wheels for the F650GS. Just like what you see on the R1200, where the spokes are on the inside of the rim, and they tighten from the hub.

The 21" front seems a bit wide, so I don't know how it would ride, but the 19" is the same size, the rear is 1/4" wider.

As you can guess, they are very expensive though. ~$1300CAD/$1200USD to just a front wheel. $1700 for the rear.

If only I had the money! (That said, looking at pictures of them, it makes me wonder how heavy they are)

I might try fitting the Dakar wheels to the Strada next week. We bought a Strada for my wife as the Terra was no longer available from the importer. She had spoked wheels on the Dakar with Heidenau K60 tyres (our very favourite tyre !) and the spokes wheels look nicer as well.
I'll post up if I get around to it.
