All I thought of while watching video is how I hate wet fallen small tree branches that lay parallel with the trail, ok maybe not hate I have got off the bike enough times and kissed them
looks like the low powered bike works just fine in that. For sure looks fun. The guy originally in the lead reminds me of one of my buddies. Putzin so slow he crashes more often!! Keep us posted on durability of the engine. Hour meter installed?? The low seat height I'm sure will help shorter guys (like myself) Is the fork fully adjustable??
Cool video. You know watching it you sure can't tell the AJP is the least expensive bike there. Very capable bike at any price point. Thanks for sharing.
The guys that saw it yesterday said how much are those? $8500? They are much higher quality than the price might indicate.
This is the PR5 which is almost full sized. Feels slim and light but is only slightly lower than most. One thing for sure is it has nothing to apologize for, its a great bike regardless of price and has better suspension than most new bikes these days. Inexpensive to buy new, 2 year warranty, very well thought out and appointed and performance is right in line. These are a freaking bargain if you ask me. BTW guy on the YZ250 is probably 23 and races expert class and could just barely stay with me. No bragging just saying the bike was not holding me back at all. If you turn up the volume you here him say, "that was a good pace" after the downhill. That thing handles awesome and the suspension works very well too. Also note that it was pretty slick out there and you cant tell how steep it is. Always much more challenging than the gopro shows. - can hardly wait to mount my new GT216AA front tire on this. The trials rear is cheating and the front one is going to be a big step up too. FUN!
for sure videos always never show the details or reality of what your doing. You do realize your selling these to......... But I get it. It works for ya...........27 Horsepower on a straight away won't work for me. But I think for bombing around and poking fun at your buddies it would be a great bike................At $5,000 not 6. 6 puts it close enough that a carryover or something else just looks more attractive.... In my opinion....... But like there is a driver for every car there is one for every bike as well. I think in the tight stuff it aint giving up nothing. Looks to handle just fine and you had a nice pace going on. Reviews seem mixed......Not light by any means....
Absolutely. Never tried to hide that fact. Simply stoked they are cool bikes and another choice. I believe in them enough I bought into the idea and have demos so people can actually go for a ride on one. Correct and this is where this bike falls short. It would also be under suspended for racing. The components are good stuff but sprung and valved for trail trash not absolute speed. This bike is designed and nails the fast trail bike gig. Its simply a joy to ride through gnarly trail at very good speeds, just like it was designed to do. I pretty much dislike 4 strokes in the tighter off road. This one is different. No stalling, no huge transfer of weight coming into corners, no top heavy feel, front end is light, bike changes directions quick, etc. Great for carving trails covered in rain storm blowdown cuz you can pick lines quickly. The short wheelbase is super useful in these situations and this thing is a switchback master. Still quite stable BTW. 5 guys I rode with looked it over and figured it is a $8500 bike. Not making that up. They had no point of reference. You have to see one to get it. Very nicely detailed. Nice ano Black CNC triple, preload adjustable forks with nitrate coating, All switch gear, lights, e-start, EFI, cool up high filter, very nice hand made frame, billet gas filler and coupler so will never warp (like my 511 did), nice hardware in nice fittings, stock cleanable SS oil filer, big fat pegs with slider plates built in, nice big ODO, keyed switch, fat silicon rad hoses, very nice stock seat, one of the nicest skid plates I have ever seen period... toss handguards on and ride.
Everyone who rides it thinks it is near 200. The PR4 feels even lighter by a good amount. I traded off with a KTM200, it felt heavier to me. Again, ride one you will get it. Low overall height and low fuel cell probably account for some of this.
I get it and I could elaborate much more and start a war. But I choose to be professional and keep my posts short sweet and to the point. Watch what you wish for. I don't elaborate and ramble on about ___ ____ the frame looks etc.. but I could. I'll stay low key. Ride it. Sell it. And have fun. If I get the opportunity to ride one I certainly will give a unbiased report and truthful. It is heavy...... Decent bike for the price I suppose.. lets let it ride at that. Have some fun for me since I cant ride right now..PS the saddle does look comfortable..With the MSO can you plate it like a late model Husky or Gasser??
The PR5 looks and sounds like a winner to me for the tight s/t trails. Am I correct that the AJP's are wired for the street legal equipment from the factory?
That's what I understand, but I think we're screwed here in Kali. They haven't bribed the Commie Air Retard Board yet.
No quadruple A riding here just fun semi fast trail riding with friends. Buddy on the KTM 350 in front of me would love to drop the old guy on the odd bike but the AJP makes it easy to stay right there. Motor impresses me more every ride. Handling and suspension continue to rule. BTW this video is all uphill but the camera kind smashes that. It is also frozen ground in some spots and sloppy mud in others. On top of that is a lot of gotchas from the wind storm laying everywhere. You cant just hang it out or your be off in the trees quickly. A class racer and buddy Scott just bought a PR5 from me and is loving embarrassing his friends on it. Scott lives on a MX track that backs up to a open ride area and they do the WORCS series here along with other series racing. Scott is very fast 2 time consecutive Time Keeper enduro champ. Has like nine fast bikes, most of them YZF450 and YZ250's but also a TCX450 husky. On his AJP PR5... Scott posted... Got in a quick ride in today on the moto track before work. I know that it's not a motocrosser, but here's what I did get out of the ride 1) The bike corners and changes direction very quick. Almost as fast as my yz125 2) The suspension works very well in the small braking style bumps and chop. I see this as being great for what you would expect on trails, IE roots, rocks, small woops, etc 3) Gearing is pretty close ratio. If you are riding more open style terrain probably will want to gear up. 4) Not one person has been able to pick apart the fit and finish. Had a lot of folks today looking at it. Comments from the trail guys were that the bike looked awesome and they wanted to ride it in the trails. Moto guys said yah, nice trail bike wouldn't take that on a track. 5) Moto guys will shut up when you jump the doubles while passing them in the air
Fletch, if you are ever out this way ping me, got lots of bikes to ride. Even light fast ones like my CR250 or CR165. I'll show you the hard stuff.
