A little humor ...... http://motocrossactionmag.com/Main/News/PHOTOCHOPPED-THE-UNKINDEST-CUT-OF-LASERGATE-COMES-10330.aspx
A friend of mine has a knack for taking awesome photos... https://www.facebook.com/ben.baucum.9/media_set?set=a.10200412195892824.1073741829.1393752368&type=3
Jeff owned up in a well written letter (author unknown) for full culpability fines and bans are dealt. I say case closed. (PS I never thought that this was anything more than stupid childs play prank, not any attempt to cause damage- but just Jeff being a goofball, ignorant and not knowing the potential fallout from his actions). Those photo shopped cartoons are funny!! Now back to the real MX!! Washougal is def one of the most epic venues on the Nat circuit!! Great Pics from Surfdirt!!
Here's his full apology letter: http://www.vitalmx.com/forums/Moto-Related,20/Washougal-Apology,1257756?page=1 Word is his dad is still being a tool and really went off the deep end on the PulpMX show...... go figure. Can see on vilo's visor the attempt to distract him at the start in this vid. Can also see what a boss villo is.... View: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Teb99dX11bM
I think of RVs riding at the top tier as very well thought out use of track space, in soccer terms (football) be where the other guys aren't and move through that space to advance your position. IMH and basically unqualified O, Mr. Stewart by this viddy uses alot of track and wastes energy and momentum---but man that guy is still super fast anyway!!
That is the 'dip', steep part is just starting in this picture. Trick is to get power down/keep momentum for the steep part, after that lower jump has thrown you in the air.
I went to Washougal in 1999 or 2000 with my dad to watch the national. We watched Travis Pastrana wheelie all the way up horsepower hill and ride the wheelie straight off the top and into a heel clicker. Never set the front wheel down from the very bottom till he landed the heel clicker. The entire crowd did a face palm and mouthed the phrase "how the F$#@ does he do that?" was an awesome thing to watch.
I saw him wheelie all the way through the whoop section one year. Thats a super talented f-er right there.
No doubt! Everytime I saw him ride I always left wondering how the hell he did what I just saw him do.
TP has a knack for wheeling things like that. I remember him coming past me in Daytona one year on the back wheel over two rollers down one of the straights. I was saying the same thing, "how in the F#$*k did he just do that".
Here are stews words after Spring Creek race ... "Things just came together today but it was probably the hardest two motos I've ridden since last year," James Stewart said. "We're just building for next year so any little bit helps. I want to finish this thing [season] and get a couple more wins to carry the momentum into next season." -- It has taken racing this yr for him to get back to the pace RD5 \ RV2 are running after 4yrs of couch time ... Lets just hope no injuries because next yrs SX\MX seasons are gonna be stacked with new and old studs ... RV2 will have his hands full to the MAX with all these top notch riders in the same gate with him..
With Tomac doing the 450's in SX last year I was hoping to see him on one for MX. I think it will take a little while but he'll be a consistent podium guy in the 450. He really needs to work on his starts, I hear Alessi has some fines to pay so maybe he can give Tomac some holeshot classes lol
Nothing says ET17 can't be a 450 champ some day but not in the near future .. I'll be honest ... I still think KR94 will win the 250 championship and I need to watch this last race to see what happened out there in the last race ... He had the points cushion all yr and now it is gone ... They'll both be racing at the limit the rest of the yr ... -- As far as the 450 class goes next yr, JB51 is a pretty good example of a rookie yr ... Very fast, won a couple races in sx, flirted with the the Ryan Express riders, but not quite on par with the top riders with experience ... The long haul of all the racing back to back is very hard ..Kdub said that himself later in his career on racing a full MX season ... -- I was reading an article on the RC racing University ... One x-champion rider was giving the class on starting and he said alot of getting a holeshot was mental ... You gotta want to get to that first corner first ... I can agree with that as when I started to wanting to get to the first corner first, my starts improved greatly .. and practice does help here ... But you gotta want it. -- EDIT: Just saw the points lead ET17 has on KR94 after this last race ... It's Eli's title to loose now ..
That track is incredible! From the POV perspective you can really see how fast these guys are. Big coconuts for sure.
