OK I'm finally on Cafe Husky Took a bit, thanks Coffee, but I'm up and running. Currently have a 2008 TE-510. Just added the PU Kit and its runs great. Ordered a new IMS 3 gallon tank and have added the Motosportz front and rear disk protectors. Next upgrade will be a GPS unit. Thinking about the Garmin Zumo 550. Great site. Glad to be here. Now if I could just find some cool offroad places to ride in Texas that aren't "pay as you go" private property.
Gordon ... New rider at post SS age. Rode a little when in my 20's TE 250 bought from George @ Uptite in Santa Ana, CA in March 08 (only 800 miles so far). Still can't figure how the wife is really OK with this. Better check to see if my life insurance has been increased... I came up with the weird excuse that riding a motorcycle would make me a better driver because I thought it would make me concentrate more. Worked.
Greetings. Ed here. 42 years. Infrequent but enthusiatic rider. 06 TE510 bought from Dan at Motoxotica. Live in Northern Cal, San Anselmo to be exact. I'm a lawyer for a software company. Married, two dogs. Hobbies are motorcycles and photography (hence, life in sepia). Here's my photo website: http://e4eddy.googlepages.com/home The avatar photo (assuming it works) is me in Tunisia a few years back. Photographer of that shot was none other than the imfamous Ekim Yak. Sorry I missed the baja ride. I'm doing the "Lost Coast Ride" in a couple weeks. If there are any others here going, let's get a beer at the Eel River Brewery. Here's a shot from my trip in the spring into Saline Valley... That's me on the left...
^^^^^^ Oooo, nice photos Ed !!! I’ll put you’re web page on my favorites… I love those black and white… Gives the subject a bit of that timelessness feel…
Good to be here I have been with Thumper Talk and ADV Rider, nice to see another Husky forum. I'm always looking for DS rides in AZ, so if they pop up, PM me. Thanks and it's good to be here.
Name is Joel and found this site by reading on ThumperTalk where I remember Coffee being an awesome and helpful moderator, figured I should head over here and sign up. I own an '06 SM510R that I roadrace at NHMS in Loudon NH. Had some issues with it and the motor staying together but otherwise gotta say I love the bike. Joel
Congrats on your Site! Thanks for hosting an online home for husky fanatics to hang out from time to time. Jim
Welcome glangston, Mickey, Garet55947, tls25rs, JBynum, and a special thanks to life_in_sepia for some awesome pics! Welcome.
Krasht in North San Diego County 50 years young. I have been riding Dual purpose bikes or dirt bikes since High School. I would have to say one of my favorite places to ride is Anza Borrego Desert State Park and Ocotillo Wells. I just picked up a 2008 TE510 in July, it is an awesome bike.
Greetings all. 40 years young, tool/die maker, CNC programmer and machinist by trade and enjoying every minute of it here in NorCal. Stumbled upon cafehusky accidentally while surfing for 'drapery fabric' for my wife. Long time lurker of TT, advrider, husaberg.org & ktmtalk but am quite happy/relieved there is an informative website dedicated to Huskys since I ride a TE610 (commuter) and TXC250 (dirt only...big thanks to Dan@Motoxotica for both bikes ). Riding street bikes since 1992 and 'discovered' dirt bikes in 2002 (yeah, I'm a late bloomer). Great website Coffee (enjoyed your youtube videos as well) and hope this continually grows into something great.
Welcome krasht & kaminari! I just gotta know - where you googling 'drapery fabric' and Cafe Husky came up? More details please...
Hi Coffee, It started out as a google search for 'drapery fabric' and after several hours of surfing, I then went to a drapery wholesale website. There were several individual reviews of fabrics that my wife was interested in but one reviewer in particular had mentioned he uses a "Husqvarna/Viking" sewing machine for his drapery work. Curiosity got the best of me and I read his review in full about the fabric and his sewing machine. In his closing statement, he mentioned "Husqvarna manufactures motorcycles as well. Check out these web links..." As soon as I typed in "cafehusky.com", I yelled "right on!" startling my wife. That's about the same time she exited the room mumbling under her breath "sheesh, motorcycles again...." Apologies in advance if this turns into a "Husqvarna sewing machine thread"
LOL... Well ok thought maybe google was incorrectly cataloging this site...Sounds great. Feel free to start a thread about sewing machines in the off topic section if you want.
Hi I'm Mike, and am a Motoholic. Currently have Nine bikes, two of which are Husky's. 1981 AE 420 Automatic 1987 XC 500
Hey gang, just found out about this place during the Husky Gathering and thought I would check it out. I have been hooked on Huskys since my first one (99 WR360). The bigger the better.Currently have a 07 TE510, but am thinking about trading it for a 125 so I can keep up with Joe at the next gathering. Later Dave
Hi everyone, I have just registered. Hopefully I will find time to visit often. I have a 05 TE250 with 160 hrs. & about 2200 miles on it. Other than replacing the plastics [every other crash] this bike has been bullit proof. I check my valves every 10 hrs or so & haven't even needed to shim! Changing oil is about it I took off about a year to heal up from a broken leg & knee but now I'm going again. Looking forward to what I think will be a real good web site
hello, i'm 32, an engineer and father of 3 from sydney and have been riding for only 1.5 years. it started with a drz, but then when i came across the husqvarna te610 it did not take long for the drz to be sold and a 2008 te610 (with barrett exhaust) to make its way into the garage. i love this bike, so far have only done 700km about 30/70 dirt/street. riding home from work tonight through a couple of road tunnels, couldn't help but blip the throttle a bit to hear it roaring. sounded awesome!!
Hey, Bob Coleman, 47 yrs old, riding since 10. Still have my 1st husky. Bought a new 88 WRK 125 over 20 years ago. Also have 02 WR 360, 07 TE 450. Here's an insider view of the barn in the middle of 240 acres of woods I grew up riding. The 94 WXE 360 on right (owned by friend), 02 Wr 360 in middle, with 88 125 on left. These are the loaner bikes as well as go to bikes for whatever I feel like riding. I keep an 07 TE 450 real close so I can do whatever I want wherever I want. View from back porch with the old 250 I sold in the middle. Last of the Swedes I had. Definitely a relic compared to the Italians.
