Hello all. I have a 1979 390cr that I have been doing restoration on. Also have some Bultacos. Not much riding here on Cape Cod, but enjoy vintage motocross stuff, perhaps will seek assistance from the vintage leftfooters here.

I just picked up an 08 CR 125 last week and am here for Info. 31 years old and I've been racing MX 21 years. Spent most of my life on Suzuki's but had a FBF CR 125 and 250 in 2002. I've also got a a '84 125 WMX Cagiva in my garage.

    Hey everyone

    I'm a racer/videographer/journalist (a wannabe in all aspects)

I cover the GNCC's for my website. jaredbolton.com, as well as writing for offroadjunkies.com

Heads up.. I can be a bit goofy.

Don't currently own a Husky but I'm definitely considering a 300 or a 310. Also, it's probably been 2 years since we sold it but we did have a 83 Husky for a while.

    Hi, new guy here.

I'm 51 and have been riding dirt and street pretty much my whole life. I got the Husky 610 two years ago, new 2008, as a straight trade for a Ducati that I never rode. Now I have a Husky that I don't ride.

The only mods I've done were to the brake pedal so that it was angled better. I don't remember all the details, something basic with a vice and grinder I think.

The kick-stand is a sick joke. My 20 year old daughter bumped up against it in the garange and managed to cause a three-bike cascading accident! The kick stand is a failure, and a weak one. It now slightly bent from me standing on it to get on the bike. It's hazardous to do that because it isn't balanced right to start with.

Overall I like the bike... I bought it to do dual sport touring with a buddie, but he's kinda dropped out of anything that ambitious. The third fellow never got his dual-sport and is now transitioning to hot rods, so it hsa sat a lot while I do other things. . Not sure it's the right bike for dual sport touring anyway. I guess if the route has a LOT of real dirt, it would be great.

I've done perhaps 100 miles of dirt fire service roads, from good to pretty bad on a Yamaha Road Star (1700cc, 650lbs!) The nice thing is the RS is super comfortable at highway speeds. Some of the dirt roads were in British Columbia. I can't really imagine running a 575cc single lunger to BC. So to me, now that I've had the Husky which was the first DS bike I've owned with touring in mind, I think I might do better on something as simple as the Triumph Scrambler or perhaps the BMW 800cc. I'm 6'0 and I find the Husky over-tall for what it's mission is. (My Buddy has the KTM 690)

So, anyway I'm using it recently in town, where it works OK. Great visibility, good lane splitting, wanders a bit on the freeway at 65 or above, but not a big deal. The tires you can almost watch disapear on road use.

It has way more power and a way better power band than all previous DS bikes I've owned. I am not yet as confident as I was on my Yamaha XT-350 owned and ridden hard in the late 1980s in SoCal. I did a *lot* of dirt jumping on that baby. It's obviously a much more capable bike that the other DP bike I circa 2000 - a Suzuki DR-400. That bike was heavy, slow, but in stock gearing pretty decent on the road. It was less awkward to toss around on fire roads than the Husky, though. I regeared it so it was useful off road, at which point it was geared badly for the street. Eventually it blew the seal on the counter-shaft, I'd had enough, fixed it and traded it for a YZ-450, which I still have and prefer for dirt riding (the real reason why the Husky isn't ridden much.)

But anyway, a few days of city use and I'm starting to appreciate it! I can pop wheelies at will in first gear, and coax them up in 2nd. I did a little friendly drag racing out by the airport w/ a new Harley Sportster (I think a 1200cc but not sure) and I had him through my first three gears, he got me on the shift to 4th. Its' way fast off the line, lane splits, give good visibility ... etc. Urban Assault Bike??

Anway, thank you for inviting me to this forum. Please someone tell me the bolt on replacement for the POS kickstand!

    Gas mileage on a 2009 txc 250

I bought an '09 on a great deal and had it lowered with a kouba link due to the fact that my legs are really short (5'5). I also bought the 2010 plastics because I loved the way the graphics were embedded into the plastic. I was wondering what the range is on this bike. I will be going on a 50 mile loop next week and I hate to carry extra gas, but I would hate it even more to be pushing instead of riding!! I was also wondering if anyone has tried the lower seat that is in the Husky special parts catalogue. I am also planning on getting a 300 kit for this....any suggestions?

    Hi there!

I live in Germany (Lower Saxony) and I´m about to buy the new SM 630. Right now i`ve got a Kawasaki ZX-10R MJ `06 but its way too strong to use it in the Meaning it was build (at least for ME) and uncomfortable on long Rides. I already had a SM before and its much more Fun to ride.

I joined the Forum cause its always nice to read/write with People somewhere else in the World with the same Hobby.

If you dont understand my sometimes bad English or I make mistakes: Let me know! Otherwise it won`t get better.

Well, thats it for tonight. Cheers!

Hello all, I'm new to the site but it looks as thow it will be a good one. I'm on the Corvette Forum and the KTM one as well. I have recently purchashed a 82 Xc 430 to restore and a 82 XC 250 to enter the Vintage Class at the Desert 100 in Washington State. I have been rideing for the last 40 years with a 20 Year recess untill 3 years ago. Can't quit get the hang of rideing a modern 4 stroke however a modern 2 stroke fits rite in. Bought the 82 Huskys as the most modern Husqvarna that still has the Classic Husqvarna Look with the Polished Gas Tanks. A Bike I always wanted to own back in the Day....

First I would like to say hi and welcome to all the newcomers, clearly ya’ll made the right choice

Second, I feel compel to address DrZero just because he has one of the largest introduction posts I’ve seen to date :D

I just want to say that the kickstand bolt fix is an easy one, you can do a search here on “kickstand fix” and you’re bound to find easy DIY fixes for it or you can just go to Motorsportz.com, one of the fine bunch of sponsors we have here and get this

Now, regarding the almighty 610 and urban use; you’re only a set of 17” sticky road wheels and a big 320 front disk brake away from a sensational urban assault vehicle that will make you giggle like a little school girl in your helmet every time you take it for a blast down your local city or the curvy canyon roads in the area

My name's Zac, bought a 2009 SMR510 last November and will probably be looking to replace my Honda CR250 with a TE310 shortly! Been a member of Supermotojunkie.org for a while but recently got linked here from Bottones Jo-Bet Cycles page.

Can't believe I haven't came across this yet.
