Hi All Hi, not a Husky owner yet but seriously looking to replace the KLR with something a lot lighter.... Need to carry camping gear food etc so just looking for info on racks etc for the TE 630 / 610 ....great site !
Visited this forum as a guest for a while and finally registered. Looking forward to being a member. Thanks to Coffee and everyone else who makes cafe husky a success... Great Site! Oh yea I've been on orange for the last 10 yrs but real close to pulling the trigger on a Husky.
Hello Cafe Husky members. I'm Robert (or 75HuskyBob). I have an old 75 husky 250WR that I purchased in rouogh shape & completely restored back in 2002. I had the gearbox converted to CR gears to race ARHMA Vintage MX (#49E) novice or at least I used to. Most of my engine work was performed by Daryl Back with European Dirt in Silt, CO. Unfortunately it looks like the ARHMA organization died this year. That's really too bad. I have not heard the whole story, but something about conflicts with AMA. I'm 53 & live in Brush,CO. I also have a 76 Husky cross country (WR) that I bought new in Grand Junction from Bob Roberts Husqvarna back 'in the day'. We used to race with Desert Scramblers on White Water hill (th old oval track converted to a scrambles track). I accidently found this website today while searching for old Denver history on Bill Thomas Husqvarna. I came across the posting by 'oldhuskychuck' dated 5-31-2010 & 6-2-2010. Ths old husky shop was actually located on the SE corner of Colfax & Poplar St. I grew up in Denver on the corner of 17th & Poplar (1957-1972) before we moved to Grand Junction. Before Bill Thomas took over the building, it used to be called 'The Pit Stop' & was one of early slot car tracks in Denver before Celebrity Sports Center took over. I'm a HUGE slot car fanatic, just not many places to play anymore. The only current facility is in Longmont,CO. I did not become a Husky fan until we moved to Grand Junction in 1972. We lived on the Redlands & had nothing but open ground behind our place & the Colorado National Monument. Now you can't ride anything in that area due to all the development (The massive Ridges subdivision). I'm new to this webiste & I've probably said too much already. Best wishes to everyone for a great New Year. Take care. (Robert 12-27-2010).
Hellothere everyone, just joined your cool chat site, pretty nice! I ride a 09 TC450, how tough is it to get this machine closer to a enduro tool. lights, enduro tank etc, I would appreciate your proffesional input

Hi Everyone I've followed this thread with interest for a while and finally took the plunge to register. I'm a 47 year old engineer, work in the aerospace industry and live in Gloucestershire, England. I race in Enduros and Hare & Hounds, mostly in Mid Wales, because I like the challenge of the technical forest going. I finally crept into the Veteran Experts last year after 10 years of racing. Current bikes are a 2008 Husky WR125 (done 45 hours since I bought it new in March 2010), a 2007 KTM 125EXC (which has done 140 hours and I've owned since it was 8 hours old) and a 2004 Yamaha WR250F which I tend to use for the less technical H & H races. I love the way the WR125 handles, however the KTM 125 engine performs far better than the Husky in the low to mid range. For example, I have never used first gear on the KTM and often have to resort to it on the Husky (they are both on 13/52 sprockets). I'm actually noticeably quicker on the Husky and I've had some really good results on it, but it's much harder to ride than the KTM or the Yam. As a result, my main interest is in improving the Husky's performance in the low to mid range. If I can achieve a noticable improvement, I'll keep the bike and sell the other two, otherwise I'm afraid it's curtains for the WR125. I've played with the jetting of the Mikuni, but ended up back on the standard settings. I've tried Wallybean's power valve spring kit which initially seemed promising, but after about 20 hours of use and trying different spring combinations I put the standard spring back in and found I preferred it. I tried an HGS expansion pipe and their enduro silencer, but found it gave a better top end but slightly less mid range than the standard set-up. And just in case you were wondering, I put a new piston in at 40 hours. Any suggestions that might help to bring the engine low and mid range performance more in line with the KTM will be gratefully received. Best Regards, David J
Desperate for parts I am from the Great White North - Yukon, Canada up by Alaska and ride a 2000 TE 610 left side kik Husky! Great bike but I lost a year of riding last summer due to unavailable parts...I am in desperate need of a top end gasket kit w/ cylinder base gasket and a rear fender. Having a bugger of a time finding parts for this bike...any suggestions...shop owners on the Husky Cafe who can assist? It would be very much appreciated! Happy Holidays.
Welcome Joe, and everyone else. I would put up an ad in the classifieds, and also start up a thread in the 610/630 forum. This thread is for introducing, and may not get looked at by the proper people who can help.

Right off the bat, found a fix for a weeping rad. hose at the pump. A little work of the file and wire brush, no more leak. Thanks guys. Looking forward to going on the first ride on the wxc, always owned, still do, KX's 500, 250, and a klx 300 four stroke. But Im a two stroke man for sure. Thanks Coffee for the site Mike

New Husky Owner 2009 TE450 Afternoon everyone from snowy NJ. Been riding Japanese bikes most of my life (almost 40 years now - must be getting old). Took a ride on a friends TE450 and fell in love. Last April I picked up a 2009. Never ridden anything like it. Great having the plate here in NJ where legal places to ride are few and far between without a plate. I am trying to find a shop manual, not the parts diagram or owners manual but a shop manual. If there is one frustrating thing about the Husky it is getting parts Look forward to chatting.
Hi mike here, posted once but didnt show up so...... Well pulled the plug and bought a husky for the first time. bad side its rained so much I haven't had a chance to ride it yet. I spent hours reading all the two stroke posts and really like this site. Lots of info and a chance to float my boat some as I see it, of course what ever help I can be, too. Here's the new to me husky, shes a 1996 wxc 250 great shape Excuse the mess, when it rained I pulled the bike into the computer room to clean and work on it, so all the junk that goes with that is here too. Here's one of my other bikes, in all I have 5 bikes all green except the new husky as you can see Im into riding alot Hope to spend some time on this board, maybe hook up with some to ride. Mike
