Old Dawg Hi - This is my first post and I am not familiar with the protocol yet. I am a past president of the Prairie Dawg M/C out of Alamogordo, NM. My hayday was in the late 60's and 70's. We sponsored 2 events which have become somewhat famous. "Mile High Enduro" and "Tarantula 100" Desert Race. I purchased a 1976 - 175 Cross Country Husky in 1977 in the crate from a dealer in Lubbock, TX. (George McMahan). He had several left over from poor sales and just wanted them out of his inventory. I rode this bike in several events including the 1980 Mile High AMA Qualifier along side Richard Burleson who won Overall that day (of course). I am now 70 and no longer wish to ride this neat little bike so I am seeking to determine if it is of any value in todays Vintage Market? The engine is supposed to be a Magnesium (2041) & Frame #ML06839. Has been in storage for 25 years but I cleaned out the fuel bowl and filled it with fresh fuel an it started first kick and ran out the carb full ! The inside of the tank is rusted! Also the front fender just crumpled when I moved it out of storage. Any Ideas out there?
Got a TE450 Greetings! I got the dirt bike itch again and picked up an '04 TE450. The Husky dealer is just a couple miles away--someday I may have to get a new one. I'm looking forward to getting out on the trails soon. Later
Another New Guy Here Hey guys. I just joined the forum but have read quite a bit on here. Lots of good info! Thanks for all that take the time to post up! To give you a little history, my Dad used to race in the early 70's, nothing major, on a Honda. He later ended up with a Husky, a Maico and a couple others and then some of them were stolen. Then he got out of it. He bought my first dirtbike when I was 8. It was a Suzuki RM50. Rode that thing for years. I rode a couple others over the next few years, almost every day seems like, until I graduated high school and then got out of it too. My Dad and I were looking for something to do together a few years back and settled on vintage dirtbikes. We both knew we could still ride but did not want to kill ourselves on the modern tracks trying to jump something. Plus the new bikes are way too tall for us! He wanted to get some of the bikes he had previously plus some that he couldn't get because he couldn't afford them then. I had barely heard of Husqvarna and had no idea what a Maico was. He now has a 74 125 and a 74 250 Mag along with enough parts to build at least one other 125. He also has a couple of mid 70's Penton's/KTM's, Maico's and Honda's that we got together over the past few years. It's addictive, I know, as I now have the bug! Somewhere early on in this venture, he bought a 79 Husky 125 in boxes. We put it together and I sort of assumed it. :smirk: We're in the process of rebuilding the engine and trying to get it ready for Diamond Don's in April. So I will probably have a few questions for you guys. Thanks again, Shay

Abramztnk on Patrol at Cafe Husky Hi folks, glad to add a Husky to my stable. I'm gonna need lots of help from you smart guys. Look forward to being a member. Tank
This is my first post. I've never owned a Husky, but got to ride Ray Mungenast 390 works barreled Husky, and it is still the fastest DB I've ridden. I knew his father, Dave, for many years and was awed by his many abilities. The last time I saw Dave, I was 60, and he was 70, and he was still in better shape than I'd ever been. That was the day of Kevin Lavoie's heart attack at the AHRMA ride in Park Hills, MO. And the day that Dick Mann autographed my Yankee side plates. It was a very good year for me.
New forum member saying hello Hi, I'm a 2010 TE 250 rider living in the Isle of Man and looking forward to chatting with you guys. Great site by the way! Antz
Wow...it sounds like a very good year! Welcome to CafeHusky Isle of Man! I have a friend that races the TT every year Thanks for the kudos and welcome to CafeHusky WoodsChick
Just got my first Husky recently, a 2007 TE610. I am very pleased with the bike. I do all of my own service/repairs so finding a community that I can lean on for info if I get stuck will be great.
Hello, Also for me this is my first post. I'm Filip, Belgian and brand new in the Seattle area (after spending 6 years in France). Just before moving to here I was riding an awesome Ducati Hypermotard 1100S, incredible bike, lots of torque and brakes of a superbike! Unfortunately it was so difficult to import it here that I sold it just before moving here. After all, with all the rain here, maybe not a bad thing... In order to stay connected to my passion, I just bought a 1969 CR250 to restore! It's gonna be fun! Pure nostalgia! About me: I'm 43 years old, married, one 13y old daughter and living in Bellevue. Working for a Belgian group, producing and distributing excellent ingredients for baker, patissiers and chocolatiers. Yes we have real Belgian chocolate! C U soon, Filip

Picked up first Husky Picked up my first Husky. It's a 09 TE 510 with 477 miles and a couple of upgrades already added. Been riding Yamahas dual sported 426/450's and I still have a 02 YZ 250 smoker that is plated in Cal that I'll probably never sell. But in any case here are some pics of my new ride I'll be out in the dez next weekend for it's first ride. Looks like this is the place to find all the info I need on the new ride. Like what to do with that awful tail light/plate holder thing is huge! And how to remove those reflecters that are mounted on the forks. And the list goes on. So I'll be lurking. Later ride on........
New blood Just wanted to say what's up to everyone here, just bought my first husky off one of friends it's a 2004 wr 250, looking forward to learning all about the bike and sharing info. Thanks!
