Newbie here - but long-time motorcyclist................ Hi all - my name's Fred and I recently purchased a 2008 610SM. Looking forward to learning/contributing on this site.......I'm hoping to do a little more dual-sporting, as I recently retired and now actually have the time. I've been riding for over forty years now - and have had all types of bikes. Mostly streetbikes, but a few off-road bikes thrown in. I did have one SuMo before the 610SM.......it was a 2006 DRZ400SM that I modded up pretty well (Full Yosh/3X3 airbox mod/JD jet kit/K&N/Corbin saddle/full LED tail tidy & turnsignals setup from Wheeling Cycle Supply/Tonne's racing rack/all black paint/Acerbis handguards/etc.)...............but I wound up selling it. It pretty much needed to go everywhere WFO - straights, turns.........it didn't matter. The little 'Zook was a good bike, but just didn't have enough motor to keep me interested. I still had the SuMo itch - and kept looking. I had a deposit on Aprilia's Dorsoduro, but when it showed up weighing more than my Gen II Tuono (plus TONS of teething problems w/Aprilia's in-house 750cc platform)........I opted out. Then I started researching Husqvarna - and was very pleased with what I found. As far as I am concerned, they manufacture the best street legal SuMo line available in the USA - something for nearly everyone, relatively good reliability, with hi-spec components, and more reasonably priced than their main competition, KTM. The fact that their new parent company has scads of money to invest doesn't hurt, either. While the primal nature of the 510SM appealed to me, I chose the more street-oriented 610SM..........and it's friendlier maintenance schedule and (hopefully) greater reliability. I'm pleased - to say the least.......and have been busy modding. First pic is of the now departed DRZ 400SM, second pic is of the new 610SM (passenger pegs removed & Kwak mirrors swapped for the heinous stockers), and the third pic is of the 610 with midpipe wrapped, front sheild hi-temp silicone painted, LeoVince slip-on installed, and "Power-up" kit in place. I'm not using full throttle yet, but I can tell that the big single has awakened.......and it sounds a little meaner as well.
Hi all, My name Is Tom, and I was introduced to this thread by my brother Paul aka I8AKTM. I recently purchesd a te 250 and love the bike. This forum is great and I am glad to be a part of the husky community.
New to the cafe Hi, Just sign up. It looks like a great place to talk husky. i have a 1978 390 auto and a 1980 390 cr. thanks
Wheel-in' n' dealin'...................... Muddy, those rims are a Husqvarna option (the silver come standard), for which their dealers usually charge an extra $500...........that's probably why you don't see all that many of 'em. BMP in Salem, Oregon (where I bought mine) was handing out some good discounts when I made my deal. In addition to the $1K "Hero Deal" cash, Bill offered an extra $500 off - and those very nice rims for just $200. Plus at time of sale he discounted any/all acessories and parts by 20%...........I bought a LeoVince slip-on/Power-up kit/extra seat for Renzaco to work on/Barnett clutch cable/a fancy logo-shaped oil fill cap/shop manual on CD/and F & R axle sliders. As I was saying goodbye and thanks, Bill gave me a couple of oil filters/two qts. of Torco T4R/a spare spark plug/and a nice keyfob and ring.....all free of charge. Ya gotta love a straight-shooting dealer like that - there are SO many of the other ilk. Bill's Motorcycles Plus has a customer for life, and I also intend on sending as much business his way as I can........you need to show the good'uns that you appreciate them.
Hi. I'm John from Northern Ontario, Canada. I have a 76 250cr. just waiting for the snow to disappear....
new member Hello all, I just signed up so I guess I am introducing myself. I am in Winnipeg Canada and I just bought a 06 TC250 from Rocher in Ontario last week. Sold the KLX300 couple of weeks ago. We were riding in the snow yesterday, did a lot of pushing in the single track, I guess I didn't have enough screws in my tires. I can barely move my arms today! I am hoping there will be dirt and not ice next week. Is anyone a rekluse expert? I may have some questions, it seems to be grabbing lots at idle.
Yikes! Someone throw me a life saver, I'm drowining here Good lawd-a-mighty but this place is growing fast! I leave for a few days worth of riding and I come back to 5 new CafeHusky patrons A big, fat welcome to FredE, Iowa Husky, flamepainter78, old76cr and mbtc250 We're glad to have y'all on board with us WoodsChick
Hello fellow Husky riders. My name is Gary. I like big bore 4 strokes. I just bought my first Husky. I think it is a good one. A 2008 TE 510. Oh the thing is a freight train, I love it! This seems like the place to be if you ride Husqvarna.
Naa. originally from Welland just been to Kap a coupe of times. (Can't talk now Hijack police are listening)
Well...I did it. Well I finally did it, pulled the trigger on a 2008 TE-510. Good lord, I have too many bikes. I hope to mesh into the board and make some new friends!
Sorry, twostrokejedi, but this sentence simply does not make sense to me I prefer to think of it as a garage size problem Welcome to CafeHusky, and congratulations on your new bike WoodsChick
Hello, I'm flyin... and I'm a premixholic. I have ridden Suzuki's my whole life, now they don't make two strokes anymore. So I'm looking at other brands, the WR300 is at the top of my list.
