Do you mean you don't have a choice on plating her or not? Even if you do not have her on the street. Do you have to buy insurance or is that optional?
It's been talked about "Lots" having to register all ,otor vehicles on and off road here....

    Hi,
I bought my first off road bike last summer, a 2008 TE450. I'm having a blast with it and working on getting the common bugs out.

    Thanks,
    Dave

Ok, so we don't get the TXC only the TC for MX or the TE for Enduro. The TE has a compliance plate on it when the dealers receive them meaning that it complies with the Australian Design Rules & therefore can be fully road registered. It's up to the individual as to whether they would want to road register it all not, but if you're not riding on private property, than it needs to be. Part of the road registration for New South Wales incorporates a Compulsory Third Party Insurance Policy. This covers people not the bike. Comprehensive insurance would be required to insure the bike. Each State does it a little differently over here, but our rego cost for such a bike would be about $400 AUD P/A.

Hello guys, tomorrow I am making a 17 hour Drive From Austin Texas to South Carolina to purchase my First and much awaited 2008 Husqvarna TE450. I hope to have plenty of problems, "COUGH" I mean questions for you guys in the near future.. I have gotten out of my sport bike faze of insanity and gone back to the dirt.
My last dirt bike I owned was all of six years ago. It was a 98 Suzuki Rm250 "eww"!!
anyways around that time I was such a pot head that i was too paranoid to ride the dam thing anymore so i got rid of it.. Screw that bike it was too slow anyways. I hope to find some local trails and meet up up with some other riders soon. With the sport bikes, I was a Austin meet up organizer for 2 years, organizing all of the fast twisty rides. In that domain , most considered me to be untouchable, or just crazy.. I hope to be close to the same in the enduro world. . I have been waiting for my husky for a long time. My father talk a lot about his knee breaker from the 70's he said it was fast as hell and he missed his husky, he probably couldn't fit on the dam thing anymore anyway. I truly hope to see you guys on the trails. (-:

Have an 06 TE610 with 15,000 miles on it. Can you tell I like it? Just picked up Ramz meticulous TE310. Hopefully I'll like it as much. Just a few short rides in the cold weather today, and from reading this site, I think I'd like to get the engine running a bit better. All suggestions welcome.

I think the STORM (hare scrambles series) is in your vicinity, and, if you are going to ride the TSCEC enduros, maybe I will get to see you at the TrainRobbers Enduro in Arkansas next June. It's sanctioned by TSCEC, and pretty unique (much different terrain than the average TSCEC enduro).

Get your dad to start riding again. If he want's to race that old Husky, there is AHRMA cross country competition available that is very fun and friendly. Better yet, get him to obtain a more modern bike, also; and ride with him every chance you get. It will be the source of many really good times that you two can share.

    Good Riding!

    Jim

Hello my name is Ron Sherfy from frazeysburg Ohio and I love your site all seem to be gentlemen and true husky lovers. I am 46 years old and getting back into some trail ridding. I love restoring old things mainly cars and bikes. so when I decided to get back into some trail riding I went looking for a bike and not just any bike. What did I want? What any 46 year old kid wants, a vintage Husqvarna twin shocker! Within two weeks I ran across an add for a wr430 husky it was only an hour away so I went to check it out. What I found was a 1979 390 automatic in very poor condition. The motor was locked up, and both wheels frozen to the axles seat missing and it had been setting outside for three years. I was told that this bike ran but was a little rough so needless to say I was very disappointed when I laid my eyes on this heap. I ended up shelling out a whopping $40.00 for this bike and all the way home thinking what am I getting myself into. Well I must say once I started tearing the bike down it wasn't as bad as I thought. Started feeling guilty about only paying 40 bucks for the old girl. Its been two months and the bike is a roller now with new wheel bearings, brakes, seat, fenders, tank, bars, levers grips, reworked shocks, powder coated frame swing arm, and exhaust. Now its time to start on the motor. I would love to post some pics. I remember seeing these bikes in action at abners yamaha hills in newcomerstown ohio in 78 79 and 80 and never had a chance to ride one I had a suzuki rm125 at that time. Does anyone know the correct size flywheel puller for the 390 auto? would be very helpful thanks Ron

Hello fellow fans of the Husky! I'm a Central Oregon newbie just up from Cali 3 years ago. I rode dirt as a kid and street when I was growing up in Cali. Just got back on a trail bike and looking to explore "Gods Country" where I live now.
