OMG, got back early er today, I have my new husky. it hasn't been ridden for a while, but it is sexy,, I am afraid the bike might have kinda been put up wet, then guy did maintain it for a while, but the bike looks to be in desperate need of a oil change. He gave me tons of oil and a few filters, I spend a little time reinstalling the dual sport lights and such and found that the horn wouldn't work. I tested the horn from one of my other bikes on her, and it worked fine. so it is definitely the horn "a few test light failures later" "cough Cough" ,also the cooling fan was a little tweaked and had to cut the casing a bit. I can probably mill a new casing for the fan out of hard plastic that works better. "gives me a hobby to work on. I am fully joyed to own my first 08 HUSKY TE450. The bike scares the hell out of me. I am terrified of her. Shes so angry. Now i definitely need to find someone that lives near me to ride with, and give me some pointers. "ANYONE HERE LIVE AROUND AUSTIN TEXAS" ?? ??
As for the oil. I'm going to drain it, pull the cleanable filter. Not sure how to clean it but.. then I'm going to add new oil, run the motor for a while. maybe go out for a little while on her. and then Dump it again. Basically a flush.. hopefully i can get some insurance by Monday, then buy some dual sort tires to replace the brand new racing nobbies so I can get a state inspection, well and a horn. ..

Great to be here. I love my new 2009 TE250. I started racing So.Cal. Desert events in 1967. The TE250 is perfect for the kind of riding I do today. I still own an YZ250F and a YZ450F but enjoy riding my TE250 the most.

    Hi,
I live in Sydney Australia. I race MX and enduro. My weapons of choice are a 2007 crf450r for MX and a 2009 Husky wr250 for the bush. I previously owned a 2005 wr250 then made the mammoth mistake of buying a klx450. It was just too big and heavy, so i'm back on a wr250. I test rode 2009 ktm 250 and 300exc's before buying the husky. The husky is on a whole other level to the ktm's. The only thing the ktm's do better is they have a lower seat height and hydraulic clutch. Husky is the best 250 2t you cab buy for racing and still have rego here in Australia.
I am in no way husky bias but i honestly believe they build some great bike's no matter what others often have to say.

    Hello

I have been interested in the "NEW" Huskys since BMW has bought them and is now handling parts logistics. Are there any issues in getting parts anymore ?
I used to be a Husqvarna Support rider back in the early 80's (1982-84).
I rode a modified XC125 (WR swingarm & 1974 SC125 6th gear)in the ISDE Qualifiers in 1982. I rode the 1982 ISDE in Czechoslovakia to a Bronze with a blown knee and struggling through Hypothermia. I was one of 8 Americans out of 36 to finish and only 125 rider. I rode a 1982 XC250 in the National Enduros to the overall A championship and 5th OA, 1st 250A . What a great bike. I rode a 1984 WR250 in the Nat'ls that year. What a Turtle !
    I still have a 1977 WR360 Cross Country (Dick Burleson Replica), a 1979 WR250 and a replica of my 1982 XC250.
I was thinking of a WR125 or a WR250. I ride SrA and SSrA Classes now.

Not too many Husky's in the islands. Just moved from Oahu last Feb, but grew up on Maui. Hope you enjoy the new ride and welcome aboard. Later
