Hi, I'm Dave and I live in the sunny UK. I have a 2008 SMR510, which originally had the standard power up kit fitted, however I liked the look of the twin pipe setup on the 2009 bikes,so as a result I have now fitted a full Ti/Carbon Leo Vince twin exhaust to my bike. I have read the thread about the PCV and autotune with great interest, as I think that my bike may benefit from the addition of this Cheers Dave
I can assure you the PC V with Autotune will help your bike In addition, you should contact Husky Sport, tell them your vin, and see if your 2008 ecu needs the updated software - if you have not done that. Welcome to the forum.
Finally riding a Husky Hello from Ridgecrest, CA (about 50 miles NW of the Husky monument) Back in January I bought a 2008 SM610ie from N Las Vegas. As soon as my plate arrives I promise to post some pictures
Glad to be here. I hope I'm doing this right. I have a 98 te610 that doesn't run, yet. I'm hoping to get some help with this little project as I'm pretty sure I'm not the first one to own a 610 that won't start. I had an 86 wr400 years ago and loved it.thanks, mudbone.
Hi all proud new owner of a TE310. Never ridden before. My brother had to show me how to shift through the gears, in the garage! I'm hoping the 300cc 4 stroke will be good to learn on AND have enough grunt to keep my respect for the bike in the years to come. I don't think I'll be disappointed. Used to race a 2 stroke go-kart so I have a soft spot for 2 strokes. I don't think their dead, as the Japanese bike sales reps would have you believe. But I'm told the gap between 4 and 2strokes has shrunk, while the softer power band of the 4 stroke is less aggressive and tiring. So I decided to get a 4 stroke. Several people told me that while the big bores are fantastic, only the more talented and experienced riders can make good use of all those cc's. Beginners and many average riders will probably tire quickly, without getting all that power to the ground. Fair comment? I bought it. Given I'm just shy of 100 kg myself, and I want plenty of adrenaline rushes, I got the impression I might be asking a little too much from a 250 4 stroke. When I stumbled across husky's 300cc I thought maybe this is the answer. Not being over 300cc also means cheaper insurance in Australia, so after some deliberation I chose the TE310! So what do you think, have I made a good decision? Cheers
I was stationed at China Lake from '68-early '71. Was great duty for a sailor. I'm riding an '83 500XC up here in Idaho. Jim
Long time Husky fan but not an owner yet. I have always been a husky fan beginning in the early 80s following riders like Dick Burlson. In the early 2000s I was within weeks of purchasing a TE570 when I was laid off. Our dealer went out of business shortly after. Soon after I settled on a Yamaha WR450f but never particularly liked the low end delivery or the handling. Despite this the WR is a trusty steed only letting me down once with a blown plug from the left over hole in the head from the compression release days. Today I am tempted again by the leftover prices, the FI, and the new light weight TE 250. Who knows how this will play out as I debate the benefits of light weight versus the bargains and reliability of the 09 models. I ride a DR650 as my Dual Sport and will likely plate a new TE as well although they will likely only see a maximum of10-20 miles of asphalt at a time. My road bike is a Ducati Multistrada 1100 DS.
Hey, new here. Just sold my 06 drz 400s and picked up a 07 Husky 610sm for 3200$ with 2700 miles on it. It did not have very good compression or leak down. Upon doing a leak down test it was apparent the exhaust valves are not sealing(I could feel the air coming out of the exhaust). When I took the head of(obviously after making sure the valve were set correctly) it was obvious the owner never cleaned out the air filter and probably ran a spark plug that was to hot(lots of carbon build up). The piston and valve springs are within speck(basically new). So I have ordered new exhaust valves, bass gasket, head gasket and 20,45 degree valve seat cutters. I consider myself a decent mechanic and would like to continue to be so with any advise offered on the work to be done. I would also like to look into getting rims for the dirt to switch out when I go trail riding. from what I have seen I would have to buy set for a te 610 and put the same size rotor as the sm on the front. Any advise on this would also be greatly appreciated . I noticed in the pics at the begging there is a picture of a 610 sm with a girl with nobby dirt tires on the stock sm rims. If anyone knows what tires those are and how that worked for her that would be great also. Thank you for reading and I hope to hear from a lot of people.
Intro Hi there folks. I just picked up a 2007 Husky SM610 and watn to get hot and heavy into track time as much as possible this year. This is also the year in which I hope to progress my mechanical skills past the basics and tackle valve adjustments.. So I am looking forward to learning lots from you!
