Well, it looks like I'm new here. I have been looking for a TE450/510 recently and thought I should get to know the product and resources before I actually get the bike. Does anybody know if there is a thread/post that shows what the improvements are for these models each year? I have been looking at the '08-'09 models. Thanks!

Hello; I have loved Huskys ever since I got my first real bike, which was a used, 1969 250 Husqvarna, back in @1972. I now own a 1971 400 MX, a 1972 450 WR, and a 1983 500 XC. I have several bare frames and lots of parts for future projects. It's all fun.

Hello, my name is Tommy and I'm a supermoto addict.

It started with a 2003 Honda XR650R that I purchased new and put zero miles on before taking it apart and putting a street legal light kit, Eibach springs, Excel/Talons and Moto-master 4 piston cal/rotor on it.

Sold that and bought a KTM 625 SMC. Then, built up a DRZ400E with a BD light kit and Talon/Excel wheels and EBC brake kit for my wife to learn to ride on.

I practically begged her to ride the KTM, but it was a huge mistake. Well, not really, but it's fun to play like it. She liked the KTM so much, it became her bike and I got the DRZ. But, she agreed the DRZ was too small for me, so off it went for a Ducati Hypermotard.

We sold the KTM once my wife became pregnant, but now that the babies (yes, twins) are 7 months old, she's ready to ride again.

So...we just picked up a 2006 SM610. Haven't got to log any time on it yet, but from the test ride, it sure feels like it's gonna be fun.

Thanks to Coffee for this great forum. I've used it a bit already and look forward to being a part of it.

  9. Hey Guys, I hope I'm in the right spot. Pumphog here, and from what I've read so far this website is just getting started, Am I wrong? Anyhow I just joined up to this website and I want to introduce myself. I am a 58 year old worn out and broke down dirt bike rider. So far two knee replacements, both on the same knee within six months and about a month and a half ago I had my bottom two vertebrae fused to my tail bone. So riding is going to have to wait awhile. I got my first dirt bike at 13 and my first real racer at sixteen. It was a a brand spanking new Penton 125. Leroy Winters got three in from the first batch that came from Austria. Leroy and his son Mike got one and since I practically grew up around Mike and Leroy I was lucky enough to get the third one. I wish I still had it. Growing up spending hour after hour at Leroy's shop I learned a lot about bike preparation and how to set a bike up, also how to take care of it. I rode my first cross country race on the bike and put on my first race myself when I was eighteen. It was a 100 mile Hare and Hound at Shores Lake in North West Ark, I met with the Forest service, bought the trophies and laid out the entire twenty five mile loop that we ran four times around. I held two races there and then it was moved North towards White Rock Mountain where it is presently being put on by the Razorback Riders of North West Ark. We will be running the 36th annual race this coming March 21. And coming in October we will have back on our land the Leroy Winters ISDE Memorial Reunion Ride where it started orginally almost ten years ago by Leroy himself. I have owned over forty off road bikes in my lifetime, but never a Husky until just recently, I am about to take possession of a 82 430XC that my cousin Kevin Grimes has just restored into good running shape. He's going to let me make it pretty!!.. Over the years I rode probably 15 KTMs from 125 to 400 and everything in between. I have ridden the Black Jack Enduro Circuit since it inception. Never had a Husky, Never had a dealer close. Always wanted one. Well!! I've got it now and I doubt that it will end with the one. Looking forward to talking to some of you guys and getting advice and help, which I will probably need a lot of.

    Afternoon...

    Hi,

Just joined so thought I'd make my first post an introduction.

Not sure where I fit in with this forum I don't have a new bike and I don't have a vintage one, so sit on the fence so to speak!! Can anyone point me in the right direction??

I ride (or did) a 2000 TE610 (non E) kick start only. At the moment it's off the road with the engine torn down for inspection and tuning. I have a list as long as my arm of stuff that's being done.

It started out as routine strip and re-build but has become more of a project. If anyone's interested I'll post details.

Anyway here she is before I got the spanners out!!

Hello fellow Husky admirers. My name is Dean. Oldsbuble is my universal message board user name. It's old slang for Oldsmobile. I do have a '70 442 convert. but that's not I came here. I'm working on an '82 430XC and thought I'd seek some guidance and was referred to this place by a Husky parts guy. This is my second Husky. A couple years ago I had a 2000 TC610. I liked that bike but it wasn't a woods bike and the riding I do in the NC mountains didn't like that bike because it's technical nature. No stranger to vintage bikes as I'm a vintage rider (read old lol). I had a couple maicos in the '70's and '80's, they broke and my heart broke with them. Parts were hard to find back then and basket cases they became. I swore that I would never have another vintage bike but alas a few moments occured on ebay a couple years and this Husky has been sitting in my shed about thrice removed for the sellers description. At least it came with a new piston. So I'm rebuilding the Mossbarger reed valve at the moment. Got the new pedals and gaskets. Anyone care to tell me how these two gaskets (they sent me) install?

    Prospective Buyer.

Hey everyone. Name is Lucas. I'm here in Oahu, Hawaii looking to buy my first Husky. Never owned a dirt bike before. But wanted to get into it for a long time. I'm looking at a 09 TE610. Only problem is it's $8400 OTD. That seems a little steep for me but if it's really worth it, then I don't really have a problem with spending that kind of money.

See you guys in the forums.

    Welcome to Cafe Husky Oldsmobuble

You will have a lot more luck with your questions if you post a new thread in the Vintage Restoration Projects .
Although this intro thread gets read by most.
I'm sure your questions will have a better chance over there.

Hey gang, my name is Howie Malone. I live in Waynesville, MO, by Fort Leonard Wood, where I just retired 1 Sep 2009, after 33 years as an MP in the Army. My Dad was a Husky dealer in Nashville, TN, when I was a kid in the 70s. We lived three miles from Dick Burleson, when the Husky HQ moved to Smyrna, TN, and I rode two Enduros on the same minute with the King. He's a great guy. I was raised racing Enduro, then Hare Scrambles and even tried my hand a MX and some AHRMA road racing. I started riding when I was 8 years old in 1966. I rode my first enduro in 1971, at age 13, on a SL 125 Honda, then my Dad gave me a 1973 Husky WR 125, the first year for those. I also had a 1976 WR 250, a 1985 CR 500, a 1986 XC 500, and a 1987 TE 510. I bought a 1976 CR 125 from a guy at a salvage yard for $190.00 in 2000, but sold it before I could rebuild it. I have a complete set of factory Husky tools for the early round case and square case models of the late 60s, early 70s. I've restored a few Huskys and worked on them at my Dad's shop, so I know quite a bit about them, just don't own one at present. My local dealer is trying to get me to trade in my KX 500 and KX 250 for one. We'll see. I look forward to bench racing with all of you on here. Kwackerman
