Well I got me some new rads to abuse, will make some guards at work some time in the next week, can't decide mad Max style with steel tread plate or refined with 3-4mm Ali as side protection.

That's not possible. They don't let kids in China weld until they are at least 7.

Hey all, new here. Thought i'd show my 06 te510 motard project. Don't have 17's atm, but running d604's. Just popped a new motomaster 320mm kit on and made some blinker brackets to bring them up to the forks.

I have a set of those on mine, fit fine but the filler neck should have been rotated about 1/4 turn. They make two different styles - one with the lower rad hoses in close to the frame and another set with the lower hose to the outside. Almost ended up with the wrong ones until I noticed the difference..

TO ALL GURUS ON PISTON SEIZURE!!:applause:

Long time to get my cylinder back from nickel replate,so now in a position to start putting it back together.
Just to recap My piston seized about 1 month ago ,after 15 minutes riding at cruising speed! The piston supposedly was fitted by previous owner about 5000 kms ago.
    I am using pre-mix 40-1.

From the pictures below ,what do you guys think caused the seizure? The inlet and exhaust side look fine ,just the sides with the circlips! You can clearly see the nickel from the cylinder ,stuck on the piston!

Thanks in advance for any constructive comments:thumbsup:

Hmmm. It looks like there was a lot of blow by. I've had two seizures this season, both from suddenly coolant loss :(. My seizures were both on the front. I assumed that is where they usually are due to the forces. The side makes me think your little end bearing or rod was bad.
I would check the rod and crank bearings before putting it back together.
Just my thoughts. I'm sure others will chime in.

Thanks for the contribution.Yes,it could be a likely cause.I will be checking that out.Is there a reason for little end bearing go bad, apart from normal wear ?

5000 km? Make sure the big end of the rod isn't worn. That's some serious time on a 2 stroke. I would say that's what caused your seizure. Eventually slop comes to a stop.
