For muddy days use Pam cooking spray, not the cheap stuff as it will leave a film on anything that gets very hot. Pledge for general shiny stuff, it also works in place of armor all in your car.
I don't know about "wax", but I found that the mud in the mountains near Baler, Aurora Philippines looked real good :-)
I started using these products on my bike and after 15k miles the bike still looks like brand new. The plus is the the liquid spray works great for helmet shields like rain ex but do not have to worry about it being bad for the shield on the helmet.
I picked this stuff up a couple of years ago, been VERY happy with it. Use on my Harley, my Avalanche and now my Terra.
