125-200cc Who's still riding a 125?

I will say we still hav e Evans buck two fiver, still in stable. It is fun to jump on, from time to time.

Do you feel the old frame is much of a let down compared to the new ones? I am tempted to get one of the old blue and yellow ones myself!

You are not giving away that much once you get the suspension working. I can jump back and forth with very little issue. 09 and later just turn a little better.

I picked up this turd with a blown top end , put a 165 topend on it and some FBF suspesion I had laying around. It is a great bike I like these better than the new ones. and Iam only in it about $2200.00

The motor is peppier, it feels lighter and It is the correct color for a Husky

I like the blue and yellow if done right and that bike looks cool. I think the frame feels bigger on pre 09 . I really like the 45mm zocchis - They just seem to absorb the little bumps and hits really well.
I agree on the 04 motor - I thought this was due to ignition differences to newer 08 - 10 bikes. 09 cr I rode was not as strong as 04.
Not sure on 06 and 08 wr125 - Ive had both and nothing like the 04 cr125 but 165 kit will fix that!!
I thought the 08 cr onwards with newer cylinder was supposed to be better .

Depends on your age. To me the correct color is a red tank with a shiny spot on each side

I have two YZ125s and they are really fun to ride but I'm certain I'm better off and faster on my WR250 Husky. The 125s are a fun novelty but when I lug up a rooted rocky hill with step ups in 3rd gear on my 250 that I know I would not have made on the 125s it makes me glad I bought the 250. I wonder if I should make it a 300 when the 250 top end is worn out?

Yes, I am amazed at the hill climbing ability of my 125, Sometimes less is more when it comes to traction.
I would probably agree with lanky about the yz125's ability to make it up the hills though, totally different kind of power.
I first saw a wr125 back in '06 at the atlanta international bike show and I fell in love with it. Started researching them on thumper talk and all you guys were raving about them but I still did not believe it. Thought it would never work in Tennessee, bought one anyway in '09, and I am still shaking my head everytime I climb a hill or get in a tight spot. Looking forward to having a 165 bike soon but won't give up my current 125. Can't have too many bikes can you??!

I thought the cr changed in 08 the wr in 09

I have not ridden a 165. The fun factor of the 125 is off the charts but I can't see how any 125 would tolerate mistakes like a 250 will. I've been looking for a good used Husky 125-144 in my area but they just aren't around. I'd sell both my YZ125s to give a small bore Husky a try.

I had a 02 WR125,bone stock and I will agree that it was leeps and bounds faster than my 09WR125,now the 09 is a 165 and have,n a great time.
