Thanks for the info Bill. I expected them to be pricey, and they seem to be in the price range of the KTM bikes. Next year if I decide to get a new bike I would get the TC 125 with out a doubt.

Am I missing something? Is the 250 2 stroke MX bike really $1100 LESS than the enduro model? So, for the Open chamber vs closed chamber forks, MX ignition vs XCW ignition with lighting coil, and a wide ratio transmission, it's that much of a difference? I've got to be missing something.

Price difference is same for KTM 250SX and 250XC or XC-W.
TC and TE both have 4CS forks, but different valving. The rest is TC specific... smaller fuel tank, no kick stand, no lights or lighting coil, no odo, 5 spd close ratio, 19" rear wheel.

no Kyle you missed it there was a KTM 144SX in 07-08 before that it was a kit you could buy in 09 they redid the whole deal and we got the 150s smaller bore than the 144 longer stroke than the 125 all to go right back to 143.6cc [kinda small for a 150] so my question was. is the old 144 kit from like 06 still available and will it fit the new tc125 i do hope we get a TE 175 THAT WOOD B 2 KOOL 4 SKOOL

It's always been like that. You can make a good woods bike from a TC.

You could do that I'm sure...or skip all that fuss. Pick up an XC/XCW/EXC/SX 200 engine from a '98+. Port it, mill the head, use your choice of transmission, 6 speed close ratio or wide, and drop it in the frame. The 125/144/150/200 hasn't changed too radically in years. In 2001 or 2002 they changed the cylinder/head to use o-rings or changed the o-rings or something along those lines. It can be made into a torquey goat trail engine or a full blown screamer, or a combination of the two. I had mine all set up and it had about stock low end, then it hit hard on the mid and would scream like a school girl -- and it would hit about 85 across an open field.

I don't know if anybody has BB'd a 200 but they have taken the 150 crank and rod and 200 jug and made a 188. I hear it cost a lot though.

I raced with a guy that was a machinist and bored out his 200 some more. I don't know how big he went, but I don't think you can really go much larger as there isn't a lot of material left to shed. 200 really is as big as it should go.
