I figured out that my bike had a CR ignition on it. I ended up buying an entirely new WR ignition and just finished the installation and started it for the first time this past weekend. I now have a yellow wire and am trying to figure out which lights I'm going to go with.
    Thanks for all the info.

Great read here. Learned a lot about my recently acquired '08 WR250 wiring. Id like to see if I can run a dual filament bulb on the rear, (hydraulic brake switch). I noticed an available RED female connector under the seat? Can this be done with the OEM tail light?

I tried the bulb on my 09. Kept breaking the filaments due to vibration I assume.

I went with an ascerbis LED with rechargeable battery and switch from Rocky Mtn ATV and all has worked fine since.

I installed a Polisport incandescent light on the front and a LED on the back with the hydraulic switch on the master cylinder of the rear brake. I pulled power from the Yellow wire coming out of the regulator (no rectifier on my 06 WR250). It runs well, it dims down on idle, but otherwise is working fine. The LED's work fine with AC. Can't wait to take it out, it was not a harsh winter, but itchy to get out anyway. Hope all your problems have been solved.
