Honda CR250 reed block gaskets fit perfect in there. I bought 2 of them for about $5 and sealed both sides of the reed cage with them.

I just noticed my bike doing this exact same thing. I had the casing off last weekend to fix the dreaded gear changing issue. Rode it last night fine and today it starts making the noise that your describing.
Just re-pulled the clutch out to make sure everything is ok. Test ride and theres the noise.

Did sealing up the the reeds fix the problem? Pretty concerning as Ive had the bike for 3 weeks and had too fix twice already.

There was a rattling noise on my 300 at the rpm range you specified. It turned out to be the exhaust springs. I slid them inside of a radiator hose, and it went away.

92-01 Honda cr250 reed block gaskets are a perfect fit. Same exact bolt pattern and size. I owned a 98 99 and 01 models.

    Thanks!!

I just took close look at mine and I see gasket between reeds and cylinder. Do I also need one between intake boot and reeds?

your dealer may know something u have not even considered.the ducati ignition can be faulty that causes poor, inconsistent spark-difficult starting-fierce kick back-engine seizures[in my case 3 that were fixed under warranty, not related to jetting, mixture, air leaks, dusted engine]
