Fires in 2 kicks or less...

If cold, pull up choke. First, kick it over really slow a few times. Next, make sure the piston is at top dead center and then get the kick starter at the top of its stroke before kicking her over like you mean it!

As others have stated, if the top end is worn, you must address that first. If you do mess with the carb, 02 Husky's have the older style TMX (flat slide) so you'll want to set the float height around 20mm as measured from the highest point on the float to the base of the carb where the float bowl seats. Hold the carb so that the float is not compressing the little plunger on the fuel needle but it should be just lightly touching it. My bike has the same carb and I have a 400 main jet, stock needle on the 3rd clip, and 27.5 pilot jet, 2 turns out on the air screw (most days). I live near sea level. I also like to use non-resistor plugs in my bike...it might just be me, but I think my bike likes'm better.

What is low compression on a wr\cr 250?
After my cyl. got scared, piston also i get arround 160-175psi.
I know the bike had higher compression before this happened because it was harder to kickstart it, but i didnt messure it..
But i think the bike was litle more crisp befor i was unlucky and damaged the piston, but could be me that is more used to the bike after i used it for a while. Go from a 50cc to a 250wr was
I allways blip the throttle a couple of times before i start it, dont know if it helps in any way. But it start easy, and engine runs good. Maybe that will help?

Is it fine to use a non supressed cap on a 95 - 2010 wr 250?
If so thats great, as I a can get an aftermarket coil but not sure if it has the 5k Ohm cap,

Anything above 115-125psi is healthy compression dont stress just ride the heck out of it.

all engines are different...but my 83 250 was at 130 psi and was in sore need of a top end. main jet was 2 sizes lean to compensate. after rebuild it was 165. i would be alarmed if it was under 140..

its hard to by the kick starter as well. my 88 250 has had 215 psi for quite awhile, but its not too terrible to move over by hand. my 95 360 has 160 psi with fresh piston, but its very difficult to move by hand and hard to kick if you use the wrong technique. they have way different kickstarters, gearing, etc.

blipping the throttle with the motor still does nothing, but is good practice to verify the throttle is free and returning.

only thing i dont do is kick a rh kick bike with my left leg. havent been able to master that one

You can turn the bars to the left and lean the bike over toward yourself a little. It lowers the kickstart and you can kick back easier.

ill have to try it sometime. my right knee does get sore occasionally

Naturally it won't feel so natural at first but you get used to it quite quick and it is a handy way to start in some situations, ie side of a hill.

I have done it because i saw something on a video. It sems the engine starts after one kick when i do it. If not, after 3 kicks if i dont when its cold outside. So it has some effect, why. I dont know.

hey it just likes being pet that way. its a good habit either way!

ALWAYS blip the throttle after pulling the slide for needle adjustments (to make sure it snaps back). And it may like the puff of fresh air from the slide dropping at startup.
