I have an 09' WR250 that has actually done cartwheels i the woods !..... I've smashed pipes, busted off chain guides and just generally ride the bike hard and race hare scrambles about twice a month or so.... I've been riding since I'm 5 yrs. old (46 now) and this is by far the best bike yet ! A few little quirks here and there but it has been reliable and tough ....... zero complaints

i switched from a 99 ktm to an 06 husky, in my eyes there are some quality differences, it just doesnt seem the husky is as tough as my old ktm was, but it has a much lighter & tighter feel & has more 2 stroke hit than the exc did. i just welded my silencer mounts for the 2nd time, but i cant pinpoint that its a bad design, as i ride it like a dirt bike and it hits the gorund sometimes, its just not as tough as i think it should be! still loving it tho, its a one kick wonder and runs strong!

I just had the pipe tabs break on my "10 WR250, i took it apart and had it welded. Checked the rest of the subframe and seems fine, anyone come with some sort of trick to take care of the exhuast tabs problem?

the pipe tabs broke on my '08. re-welded and good since. elongated subframe bolt holes is a result of loose hardware.

On my 07 wr.250 the tabs broke twice and it wasnt from crashing, just normal use and abuse. The fix was to have new tabs made out of thicker material. Havnt had a problem since. Expensive fix but still cheaper than 600.00 for a new subframe.

where i work? they fillet the bike every RACE. by seasons end? good luck finding an original part.

its a 'race bike'. stuff breaks, wears out and falls off and the weak points go first. on ALL brands. short of not riding it? stuff happens, a lot.

No Ray Ray. The ridges on the mudflap will be trimmed off by someone like me or you and the next ride we'll smile as we know every little bump we hit, a thin hole is not being sliced into the swingarm of our pride and joy.

A friend of mine was racing his 08 YZ250 (set up for ECEA). His petcock disintegrated during a race. I mean the things just fell apart into pieces and he lost a bunch of fuel and DNFd.
    Yamahas. What junk!
My KTM rear shock blew out on a mild trail ride with only a few hours on the bike.
    KTMs. What junk!
Ive owned over 20 bikes since 1997. I could go on and on and call each one a piece of sh1t. But I also practice witchcraft (preventative maintenance).

the thing that turned me off was it was constant. everytime id go to do a practice run it turned into a major overhaul to get the bike running.

my 2013 ktm is probably the best handling bike ive owned. the husky still has more motor. if this bike is anything like my husky as far as keeping it going i will be leaving he sport becasue i dont have the time to keep a bike going that seems to fight me every step of the way.

used to have a bumper sticker back in the 70's from Ascot....said:

    "SH=T HAPPENS. FAST."

kinda fits here. if you ride your/a/any bike, things will break, blow up, fall off, wear out. the faster you go, the faster this happens.

    period.

i bought a pack of ten fishfingers and only got nine in the box can i complain too?
i also had a bike that wrote its self off under a oncoming car i think its the roads fault i mean if i was off road there wouldnt of been a car.

seriously tho if welding it doesnt fix it then leave a little loose so it has wobble factor may save some damage upon binning it..
all that energy has to go somewhere right so make it move rubber not ally.
pipe clilps are a very good idea tho.

To make a dirtbike that is impossible to break, is to make one that wheighs too much to be considered a good dirtbike. My 12 wr300 did 13 hare scrambles and a bunch of riding in between. It never let me down! It had qwerks but I got through them and all is good! I will say though that the plastics piss me off!! I know you guys know what I'm talking about.ha ha, ready for 2013 and 13 more.
