I posted in another thread I just realized I am at the 4500 ish mile mark on my 09 on the stock piston. Bike runs awesome and has perfect compression. In the three years of having it fork seals went out on it when crashed it into a dirt mound. Carb overflowed once like gushing gas and clutch cabled popped once and linkage bolt backed out wrecking linkage.
Thats it. Think this winter I will strip her down and rebuild completely

I have one on the rear of my DRZ (no built-in lift points like a Husky), and it works well. I don't run the fronts on anything, but I know guys who do!

Love my tugger straps. They are located here in Logan, UT. When I lost one of my little bolts and retainers they left replacements on my porch while I was at work. I use a little blue Loctite on the bolt threads now.

they are a little heavier than the tourtech or moose ones, but you get to take some stuff out of your pack like a tow strap.

gives you roughly 26' (for a front strap) of cord you can unbraid and use as a tow strap, or a shoelace, or to tie your headlight back on, rig a backpack strap etc. as well as two carabiners for whatever you may need.

I've always wondered too. Looks like a hydraulic clutch and different triple clamps in that photo. And still running the Mikuni carb.

Went for a ride this week with a bunch of new guys. It was slow going and I had to stop on lots of hills. My bike didn't care too much. I got to ride a brand new Service Honda 500 because the rider couldn't make the hill. Wow, there is no comparison between the bikes. Mine just blows it out of the water in so many ways!

Go ahead and tell me my bike is old and outdated, my Mikuni is crap and my Rekluse dulls my skills. Just try to find the time to say it while I'm passing you...

You're telling me the Service Honda wasnt as good? Wow. Thats interesting. Thats always been a dream bike for me. I love my WR300 but I'd love to ride them back to back. That makes me feel great about the $6k something I spent on my WR as opposed to what the Service Hondas cost.

I would suspect the service honda is awesome on the track. If you ride singletrack though, it's not even close. The rear end was jumpy, the rider was the same weight as me and he spent all the money to get the suspension set up for trails. The engine didn't lug as well, it didn't have the low end grunt like the 300 does. I never wound it out, but for a technical hill climbs it's not even close.

Wow thats interesting. Well thats money well saved for us! I lug my WR so low in the woods sometimes and it amazes me how it just keeps pulling and never loads up. I found my back end starting to get jumpy and weird a few weeks ago. It felt like my shock had changed. Turned out the o-ring in the shock had worn and gas and oil mixed. That made for an awful ride, especially in the stutter bumps.
I wonder if that top end hit is just a characteristic of the 500 motor that cant be taken away.

I've pretty much made the decision to park my 250 4ts and ride my 08 WR250 as my daily bike ... Just no reason not to ride the bike that will have the longer life expectancy ... I've done a few small time trails with the 4ts machines against this 2t beast and my results were about the same ... Which ever bike I try the hardest on has slightly better results ... Plus I pimp this bike out to a local rider here and make a few pesos with it also ... I'm not so sure I'm gonna pimp out the 4t machines for racing now ...

    --
I'm trying to MX race this bike also but, wowo, I'm getting mixed reactions from this beast going over jumps where the 4t machines are so much more predictable leaving the jump face ..

As far as trail riding, the stuff here I ride in is alot more open and I'm looking to get on the pipe lots of time ... Its always interesting to try and get this beast to hook up ...

    --

My favorite pic ...Ayen pushed that red 4t off his a$$ starting with clearing this short, small double straight out of a short corner ...You know, that 4t territory where you torque it coming out of a short-run-up to a jump ... 2t bikes aren't really lost on tracks, even today ... But you gotta deal with the beast 102_4525.JPG

Sign of the new ownership ... maybe selling these bikes with these forks and maybe another gadget or two that the new owners sell will get this bike produced another year or two ..

Sweet and I need these on my bike to drag it off the ground from time to time ... I'm just too lazy to get it done ...

In case everyone forgot, this bike rules. I had a great ride last night, tight gnarly singletrack with guys way faster than me. I was getting into 4th gear on occasion and my bike just did everything so well. I love my bike!

Put me down for the love this bike category. I've given it opportunity to fail on me twice and it won't.
