I have to join in this thread! despite minor annoyances and my steep learning curve with the bike, I am riding more than I ever rode, enjoying every minute of it. I am also riding faster and further with less fatigue. could I have kept on riding without Lectron and Damper? sure... but working on the bike and making it truly yours is part of the fun!

oh and I can start it with one kick now, hot or cold :) lectron definitely helps with starting.

I love my 300 especially for the woods. It chugs along in tight slow going single track so well. Amazing bike. I've had mine for five months now and I'm finally getting my suspension done. (by a pro)
New springs up front(stiffer) I think he gets the whole kit from Race-Tech w/bushings,seals etc. I'm curious to know if anyone uses a steering dampner on their 300/250's and how they like it?

I've only got a 250cc 2T Husky but it makes me forget my 250cc 4t bikes before the wheels on it have made a single revolution :) .. Myself, I would not even look at another 2T model bike and readily admit I own too many 4t bikes and need another 2t 250\300 Husky.

Great pics and I think I could get across that log but not like you are getting across that log ... I just don't have that motorcycle move just yet ..

Are you torquing the bike when initialing touching the log to get across or is it more speed move or something else?

How do you find the polisport headlight? The stock headlight on my 2012 is weak at beast? Also, what jetting were you running on the sand?

Yeah...Fully Pre-loading the bike (bouncing down on it) then gassing it and dropping the clutch as the front wheel hits, then as the back wheel hits, it just pops you up. Start on small stuff. Do 1 small log 5 times in a row every time you ride near it. Doesnt take long to master.

Headlight is barely okay but better than stock and will get you out of trouble. I have swapped it for an Hallogen X2 Trailtech now which is much better. I run 14/48 sprockets, 42 pilot, 420 main I reckon. Not sure. Havent pulled the carb out for so long. It runs so good. Spent ages mucking around at first though. Went through heaps of jets before getting it right.

The one thing you need to always check on this bike is the inlet manifold for cracking. Replace it as soon as it looks cracked. They are cheap.

i was thinking of upgrading to a new 501 in a years time or so but now am in a total conundrum. I put a lectron on the carb and the bike absolutely is a totally different bike. It not feels like a 500 four stroke but with all the bennies of a two stroke. Had no idea a carb you do this. Gawd if there was only a after market push button start kit for it.
