250-500cc WR300 love thread.

I found a really good deal on a 2014 wr300, almost new, rekluse and a bigger tank. But I'm a little worried that parts will dry up. When I get a bike I generally keep it for a really long time. any of you worried about parts? Are these bikes fairly dependable?
Also, I'm 5'10" and fairly skinny. Am I too short? I'm not new to bikes at all, on or off-road, but this would be the newest dirtbike I've owned.

They are the most indestructible bikes out there. Only issue youll find is theres not a ton of afrmarket stuff for them. Other thsn thst all your gong to need is pistons and bearings and those are on ebay all day long.

stock up on extra plastic...rest should be available for a good while. theres a few prep things that should be done to the 300, namely resealing the intake and reeds.

What about how tall they are? I've read they are a bigger bike, suited for taller riders. I'm in Oregon where we're riding a lot of single track in the mountains.

I don't have a problem tuning the bike. I think any bike needs that.

My '14 WR300 is holding up Great! I've had it almost a year and try to ride every weekend, mostly single track.
I have no clue to the hours or miles, but it's ready for it's 3rd set of tires. I change the oil, clean air filter, lube and keep chain adjusted.
The only thing I have broken so far is a lower radiator shroud.

Where did you buy the white tank shrouds? Are they for the 300?

Yes they're for a 300. CEMOTO makes them, I bought from Hall's cycles. Currently out of stock at Hall's due to MotoPlastics the US importer going out of business.

I'd say go for it. I've had my 14' WR300 for 11 months with 70 hrs and no issues at all. I bought it because of the smokin' deals going on at the time. I had been looking for a used KTM 300 for months
til I came to my senses and realized that I could buy a brand new Husky for less than most of the used KTM's on CL. No regrets at all. Awesome woods bike.

Is it true that Rekluse is still making the Z-start pro model for the Wr300? I had one on my YZ250 and it was great. I really don't like the ExP compared to the Z-Start. Not adjustable enough
We rode 20 miles of singletrack in a combo of snow, slush, ice, mud and wet leaves yesterday, would not have wanted any other bike. The 300 was fantastic. I had my buddies revalved twin chamber forks from his TXC on my bike and it was an incredibly good setup. I have never been happier with any other bike. Needless to say, I am now looking to buy the same forks so I can match his setup.

How about some fresh WR300 love? Still a great bike and I'm having a blast with mine. It came with a Rekluse EXP 2.0 which I've grown to like.
So far I've added:
Lectron carb!
QStealth SA with stock pipe;
ProTaper Woods bars (trimmed to 29 1/2) with EE 5/8" bar risers, G2 throttle and hand guards and plush Domino grips;
Moose EZ3 clutch perch/lever and Terminator cable;
5.0 rear spring and .40 fork springs with Maxima 5wt:
13/46 gears (only works because of the Rekluse);
Honda CR250 intake gaskets, iridium plug, burning 93 octane 100% gas @ 40:1 with Klotz Techniplate.

Just uploaded a couple of clips from a recent ride. Going downhill in 4th and 5th gear on this beast is the most fun I've had with my clothes on

Always wanted a black bike so this time when I had the engine out I made the switch. Really love it.



I put a new RENTHAL clutch lever on and on the first ride I was really impressed with the feel and the ease of adjustment.



Pulled the old Barkbusters off and went with the Cycra's instead...great quality kit. Far superior to bark busters.



I went with a Gnarly pipe so I could retain the standard silencer. It does not meet up perfectly which was a little disappointing. P3 Carbon Cover should do the trick.



Guts Ribbed seat for those ultra wet muddy rides!

haha, sorry about that. Strange camera effect when the trail gets tight. Also, not a youtube expert and don't understand why video quality is so poor after uploading. Except for the elevation changes I guess it's similar to your green lane riding. I'll upload a clip from the deep woods this weekend.

I was kinda wondering the same.....but didn't see a direct response to that.

Also, being no 6th gear, what do the desert setups look like? I couldn't imagine not having a 6th on my 360 when riding desert. But from the looks of it, most of this thread contains guys that ride this on single track or trail like stuff, where 6th isn't a necessity....

I will say, from all the reports of the WR300 in general, it does seem nearly impenetrable and a real value in dirt bikes. Impressive.

so this just applies to 2 strokes made after 02? what about 2 strokes made before that?
