250-500cc WR300 motards

Sounds like a very similar set up to what I run on my TE on the road, but I go stiffer at RR and SM tracks. I haven't been able to get the suspension as good as either my '06 610SM or '07 450SMR on the black stuff, but I suppose thats the trade off with being able to bolt the big wheels back on and hit the dirt. A friend of mine has a supercross setup with his suspension and he is very happy with it for sumo, so maybe I'll send the WR bouncy bits off for some work after its run in.
OK,OK! I'll get a PWK! is the S or the AS the one to get? I'll wait till I get to the states to buy it though. My plan is to put the TE in the shop on consignment in March so it can sell while I'm away, then buy the WR when I get back to Australia, it feels like a long time to wait, but thats why I'm getting all the info I can now, so I can get the right carb, right bashplate/pipeguard etc in the one hit. I like to set my bikes up right from the start so I can just enjoy riding them.

Ok, then i´m not totally lost suspensionwise then=)! Like you say it´s a compromise to be able to use the bike everywhere. It´sthe PWK 38 AS you should go for. It´s a slightly tighter fit, but it works great and you don´t need to change any cables or anything to get it in. I don´t know what size of rims you will go for, but i have the wide 5,25 inch rim at the rear and that is a very tight fit as you can´t move the wheel too long backwards as the rim touches the chainguide. I replaced my standard chainguide with a BRP, and i also use their skidplate which is very nice. I also use an alloy bendable pipeguard as you can see on the picture. It´s cheap and works perfect. I payed about 35 Euros for the pipeguard and it´s mounted with hoseclamps only.

Cool, PWK38AS it is, thanks mate. My rear is a 5 inch, and i run tyres between 150 to 165, so I won't have any dramas there.
I want to get a Hyde combination pipe/bash plate, but it looks like they only fit the 09 300, so I reckon I'll go for the Hyde bash plate and a similar pipe guard to the one you've got.

The conversion has come to a halt at the moment. I did machine the hub after all ($180). I fitted it all up and it was beautiful, til I put the chain on and now it ever so slightly rubs on the (150 profile) tyre. I am afraid to ride it in case i chew out the quite $$$ Pilot Power rear tyre. I spoke to a few of the motard boys down at the track on the weekend and they seem to think it is fairly common and just to run with it. When that tyre is worn out, just get a 140.
In the meantime I've attached some photos which explains some of my issues: (compares the 2T hub to the 4T hub (after machining), shows the chain alignment and an overall photo).

Mate, thats a real bummer, as an experiment, maybe you could throw some washers in between your sprocket and hub, then throw a washer between your wheel spacer and swingarm (or just back off the axle nut till the chain guide clears) and see how it looks.
I wouldn't recommend a 140, you'll have fack all grip and weird handling. how much room have you got on the other side between the tyre and swingarm? You could get the spokes adjusted to move the rim and tyre over to the left. Also, I've never been a fan of Z rated tyres on sumo's, GPR10 A's are the go!

What pipeguard are you running on that empiredownhc?

Its an anodised black aluminium one from ballards. You just shape it up yourself then hose clamp on. I've had it for years, been on my last 3 bikes! Its good for preventing dents, but anything serious will still damage your pipe (see my small bend is pushed back towards the engine more than normal). I'd get one of the bigger plastic ones (Hamtek etc) but they are pretty expensive, and I ride my bike only every couple of months...I like to think my budget one gives good airflow and collects less mud.

Have you had better success with your wheel fit up?

Thanks! Its originally 2004 year 250wr, but i have chanced everything, and installed 300cc kit

I snapped a few pics of my sons 2011 WR300 with Supermoto wheels. We ride Enduro mostly so the bike has it's marks and scarres and we need to have the bike set up with Enduro suspension and an easy swap to Enduro wheels so therefore we have kept the stock front brake disc size and we have of course another chain to just swap over for woods riding. It doesn't take much more than 15 minutes to change wheels, chain and reset suspension. Running 15/39 on this setup.

i had the TE rim relaced to my WR Hub, i also run a standard heavy duty chain not o-ring gives you the correct clearance.
