bought a new WR300 from Trooper Lu,s Garage.had 3 warranty repairs of top end, seizures, barrel cracked between exhaust&sub port.stator replaced under warranty.they screwed me around, wasted time, bike sat in workshop 4 two weeks due to a computer fault, parts took weeks to appear, storys were told then changed or denied, service manager on long service, then is sacked or leaves, emails ignored or blocked.contacted BMW [parent company],which got PFG responding 2 emails, then more BS.fair trade might do something if they get bombarded with compliants

If you do the swap with the 360 I would be curious to know how you like it. I have a lot of mods into my 360 engine but the rest of the bike isn't as nice. So a modern frame is begging to have my 360 in it. Let me know how it goes.

a 360 and 300 share cases so its a bolt in
the pipe will be the only issue, you might need a custom built
please post pics of the swap

the biggest advantage to the 360 gear box is 6th gear, as in another gear

I recently updated the body work on my 2000 WR360 to 2007 plastic. I was in the hunt to replace the stock ESP pipe. I was told a WR250 pipe would work so I purchased one. It did not work in this situation. The exhaust angel coming out of the head was way different. So I nickel plated it and stuck with it. I'm going to assume you will have to use your stock 360 pipe. This will probably be a good thing since you mentioned you like the low end power band anyways. The frames and the engine mounts of both the 360 & 250 look identical but, as in my case you may run into an exhaust alignment issue.

    Good luck!

It looks like I will be doing this swap soon as well. Trashed my 300 a few weeks ago, and I don't trust that the ignition system isn't to blame. So, I'm a bit hesitant on the rebuild. Meanwhile, I found a recently rebuilt WR360 (complete bike) for a great price. So, I plan to pick that up Saturday, then swap the engine over to the 2012 WR300 frame. So, I can finish out the season. That should buy me until March/April to get all new ignition and rebuild the 300 to my satisfaction and drop it back in.

I figure I'll go ahead and put my Lectron 38mm on the 360. The pipe situation might get interesting. I've got a local guy that does great work blowing out smashed pipes, but in the last 15 months I've acquired 2 stock WR300 pipes, 1 DEP pipe, and 1 Pro Circuit pipe. So, I might see what I can't do to fit one of the stock 300 pipes. A bit of heat, and bending, and maybe welding...but it'd be nice to have a spare with the way I tend to smash them.

my guess is the port for the pipe might be the actual issue
the 250 and 300 are base off the same basic engine just oversized bore
the 360 stands alone from these, while the different years list different pipes it might be the mounts that changed due to frame geometry
the point made about the pipe being used on a different cc engine had the pipe at a bad angle, sound like the exhaust ports are different
they don't share power valve parts, just saying
